Big Man's Moving Company

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Big Man’s Moving, both with the move itself and with the company’s lack of meaningful follow-up afterward. The movers arrived hours later than expected, which resulted in my move continuing until approximately 3:00 a.m. By that point, I was exhausted after an extremely long and stressful moving day. While the move was finally being completed around 3:00 a.m., the movers began questioning us about their tips and discussing how much we should be tipping them.

I hired Big man's Moving company to move my 2 bedroom home. I was given a quote for $2995. My stuff already packed neatly in the boxes by us. All they had to do was to load boxes, de-assemble 2 beds, 1 writing table, 1 dinning table, 1 patio table and wrap leather sofas. Same and some more furniture we brought 2 years ago from New York to Tampa and that mover took 4.5 hours loading and 3 hours in unloading and re-assembly barring the drive time. We had very cordial atmosphere while they were working.

This weekend we moved 1 mile. We’ve moved more than a dozen times, long and short distances and this was by far the worst!! It began with the owner Josh, who assured me that my drawers did not have to be empty and that they would shrink wrap my drawers closed. I said if that was a problem I was going with a different company and he insisted that he would make sure it was taken care of… so I agreed to use them.

I would not recommend this moving company. During our move, our TV was damaged and a wall in our brand-new construction home was also damaged. When we contacted the owner to discuss these issues, we were disappointed by the response we received. Rather than taking responsibility or offering any form of refund or compensation, the owner stated that negative reviews would only hurt his employees and that he did not care about the review itself.

BE AWARE THAT BIG MAN’S MOVING CLEARWATER, FL CAN SHOW UP TO MOVE ALL OF YOUR BELONGINGS, ONLY TO TAKE SOME AND LEAVE YOU STANDING AT THE CURB WITH NO RECOURSE. BIG MAN’S MOVING CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO OUR BELONGING AND DENIES, DENIES, DENIES! We hired Big Man’s Moving for a long distance move from Florida to a storage unit in Sanford, NC.

In EVERY negative review I saw, I never saw that you ever admit that you or any of your employees have ever made a mistake. I didn't know there was a perfect company out there. It was on your quote as Printer stand (see attached Photo) and in the list I uploaded when you gave me a quote. It is on your paperwork. Again, if it is against company policy, why did your guys wrap and load.

Our guys were quick and friendly but we unfortunately found Joshua very unprofessional and condescending. They apparently do not have insurance and cover nothing! We wrapped and moved the majority ourselves as they wouldn’t do it; nothing with glass, stone tops, lamps, or anything breakable at all(no kitchen items). It was 3 miles to new home and we’ve already found items that ended up broken even though they were thoroughly wrapped by me in heavy storage containers and blankets we purchased.

AVOID as there are better options in the area and pricing was deceptive! Very disappointing experience from a company with such good reviews. Used for my move out of a 3/2 house with a 2 car garage and patio furniture. Provided a full inventory list prior to move and front office only sent one 26ft truck. It obviously didn't fit and once that was clear I was told I would have to hire them again to take the rest of the stuff. They ended up leaving half my garage full and all of my patio furniture.
