I do not recommend!!!! Buyer beware that there is a risk of having your driveway pad damaged which can cost you thousands of dollars. If you can avoid using a container I strongly suggest you use a moving truck and have them park on the street instead. Just imagine the truck that drops off and picks up the containers are heavy enough alone and then add a 20,000 lb container to it and then have it drive on and off your driveway (and even over your grass).

I initially was going to book with this company, got a quote and had some questions. The second guy I talked to was rude, condescending . I ask to speak to the first guy and was told he will call me back . Never heard from them again . I would suggest customers check with PODS as they don’t have to tip the container to move it , thereby all your furniture /boxes could move .

Booked a container, Chad neglected to actually book it. When I called to confirm it was coming by a Tuesday, you can tell he forgot to book it and saying soonest he could get one would be the following Friday. Well I won’t be there anymore. Thank you for wasting my time and expecting some sort of professionalism. Now adding extra BS, They are not the cheapest but I figured the professionalism would make up for it. I was wrong on all accounts.

I was quoted 200$ for empty drop off and 200$ for empty pick up. This worked out to close to 9$ a mile. Industry standard is between 1-3$ a mile depending on the complexity. All the competitors came in at 90-100$ which is far closer to industry standard and more then half the cost of Big Steel Box. Make sure you check your per mile quote and compare it.

In March 2015 we contacted this company requesting a quote on a move from Edmonton to eastern Canada. We needed to more early April, which was a month notice. We only heard back from them now, JULY 14, 2015!!!! Thanks for your great and timely service BigSteelBox; we have been in our new home for the last 3 months!

I was under the impression that I was bying a simple lock but after being billed for a second months I got billed for renting a lock at 10$ a month I am not impressed that the salesman lied to me I suggest bring your own lock cause this is unacceptable in these expensive times we live in !!!!

In their own words
We were moving from an acreage in Sherwood Park AB to a new house on Vancouver Island. We were confident that our home builder would let us down again and didn't want the problem of having a moving truck arrive without being able to unload. We chose the Big Steel Box method instead. It offered us the flexibility to store the units until we actually had possession of our new house. The only issue we were concerned about was finding people to load and unload the boxes.

Drop off and pick up went very smoothly. Dylan gave me a call on his way over and made sure to pick up the loaded container slowly and carefully to not damage any of my belongings. He was also very kind and respectful. Highly recommend him and would use BigSteelBox again in the future!

I recently had to do a cross country move from Ontario to Alberta, and choosing BigSteelBox was the best decision!! My belongings were picked up at the end of March, but I couldn't have them delivered until May. The customer service from start to finish was terrific! Information was clear and accurate...no hidden fees or issues. One month of free storage on this end was a helpful bonus! They were on time with deliveries and pick ups. Everyone I interacted with with personable.

Used Big Steel Box to move recently and I am quite happy with the results. It was easy to order and delivery/pick-ups were on time! The box was clean and easy to pack. I did have some early billing, but corrected with a short phone call. Only one down side is when I requested a quote online, I did not hear back and I had to call for a quote, they may work those bugs out.
