BMS Moving & Storage

MAKE SURE YOU BUY FULL REPLACEMENT INSURANCE (which wasn't quoted to me and I forgot to specifically request it). We've moved 5 times in the last few years and this was our worst experience, both with poor customer service and with damaged furniture. Now we have to go through the process of getting 60 cents a pound for everything that's broken and I'm not sure how complicated it will be. This was a big, 2 day job moving from a 2 story house.

Mine was an interstate move and as per the estimator who came to my place to view everything (and I mean "everything") that was to be moved, pricing is based on weight. His move weight estimate ended up being nearly half of what my actual weight was. I didn't, and couldn't, add anything to the delivery, in fact I sold some items in between. The outcome is that Bekins (Wheaton) is charging me almost double of what the original estimate was.

BMS is the worst moving service I have ever used. The move resulted in approximately $25,000 in damage to our home and personal property. The movers were extremely rude and unprofessional, arrived more than four hours late, moved items to the wrong rooms, mishandled furniture, and left trash throughout the house. We purchased BMS's Full Value Protection, specifically because we were moving valuable belongings, yet they have refused to provide full replacement value we were promised.

Bad beyond my wildest dreams! We hired these guys because they told us they only used "their" packers who were employees and professionals. After all, that's where damage is stopped, by people who know how to pack properly. We paid $1600+ for the packing alone and when we began unpacking we found that my kids could have done a better job! There are too many examples to list.

We were under the impression everything was fine. They moved our furniture into "climatized" storage where it stayed 18 months. Then they moved our possesions out of state to our final destination. Wooden furniture arrived with mold and mildew. Somethings were broken. But worse, one crate of furniture was missing. It imcluded some high value items. A month later I'm still trying to resolve the insurance claim out of an office in Indiana. They have been terrible with communication and customer service.

I normally don’t leave reviews, I actually don’t think I ever have left a negative review before in my life. This company has been the cause of so much stress for me. The people who packed up our stuff we’re amazing. Onyx and Chris were wonderful. They were very nice, explained the process to me, and were very thorough. After the packing everything went down hill. From having to have people sent back just to unpack, unwrap, and even unpad furniture..

Worst moving experience ever! The marketing guy, STEVE GATES, estimate was way below what we actually paid, and he had the audacity to yell at my husband on the phone and hang up on him. My husband never raised his voice (of which I was very proud because I would have lost it with Steve). Steve Gates came out and took a thorough inventory of all items that were to be moved and gave us a reasonable estimate.
