Hired this company to move a one-bedroom apartment approximately one mile. The move took 10 hours with three movers and cost $1,725. To be fair: I did not have access to the freight elevator at my new building due to a property event, which the movers had to work around. That’s not on them. What is on them: they did not wrap a single piece of furniture. The plastic wrap never came off the truck.

Let me fix this review for accuracy - Movers were just unprofessional and rude to my friends while I helped them move. It leaves me confused by all the 5 star reviews on here.

After being billed over $1,000 for three movers to transport 21 items under a mile, I cannot recommend Box Turtle. The expense would have been fine except for the poor service. 1) They didn't set up the furniture. I have a sectional in pieces. Also, they moved two small desks for us. The tops shifted and came off on both of them when we sat down to use them. They didn't put the video screen back on the Pelaton and the connectors are now lost.

BUYER BEWARE. We paid nearly $7,000 for Box Turtle Moving Company to move our household from Raleigh to Wilmington, and unfortunately, the delivery was a very disappointing experience. While the pickup went just okay, the delivery was a completely different experience. Furniture was stacked and handled in ways that concerned us, multiple pieces were scratched or damaged, protective wrapping was removed and not properly replaced, and a chandelier was damaged as well.
Straight up, asked the guy not to drive across the corner of my lawn because I have irrigation there and then five minutes later they drove straight across the corner of my lawn over the irrigation. Update to response. October 16 2025 I will confirm he did come out the next morning. I disagree with the assessment that they had no other option because I’ve had many box trucks leave without driving across my lawn.
We always take customer feedback seriously, so we went out the next morning to inspect this property and speak with the homeowner. We confirmed that there was no damage to the yard itself.
Hire With Caution! The crew showed little care for our belongings, leading to damage on several items—including bunk beds and a bar cabinet. Most of the walls were scuffed during the move, and the team placed all our furniture directly on the driveway concrete without any protective coverings. Additionally, none of the bed frames were properly reassembled or secured, which felt careless and rushed. I would strongly advise others to consider a different moving company.

Our move was scheduled for February 25, 2025. The scheduling and the move were seamless. Levi, Harper, Kenly and Jordan showed up right on time, if not slightly before. We did a walkthrough of the house to survey what was being moved and we were told that the move would take less time than we anticipated. It actually did take less time and it was all because these young men were totally about business.
