Bronte Movers & Cartage Ltd.

Not sure where to start- I had very high hopes for this company, and they completely fell short in every way. From the swearing of the crew/movers, (in front of our two children) to the insincerity, dishonesty ghat followed our move (they ruined a carpet as well as a piece of furniture) and we have yet to see any compensation and or ownership of their responsibility. Truly- this is my first Google review, but feel very compelled to share what a negative experience we had with Bronte movers.

UPDATE: This matter was resolved on September 20. We moved in February so it's taken over 4 months to get to here. To keep things relatively short here's the timeline. Pre move – very professional. On the day – Boy! Those guys worked! No complaints. But 3 items got broken, one we can't replace, and fridge got badly scratched. Not a great result but these things happen I guess. We were told in such an event we should call straight away. We did. And here's the one star comes in.

I would highly recommend finding another moving company. Warning ⛔️ Lots of missing and damaged items. Thousands in missing and or stolen items. Some boxes completely disappeared 👻 This company stored our contents for a few weeks due different move-in and move-out dates. Unpacked and repacked…many items completely gone! ***Management needs to have a serious look around how they conduct business and who they employ.

We've used Bronte Movers twice and had two very different experiences. Our moving experience was dependent on the quality of the crew they sent. The first move was on an unpopular moving date so we got the "A" crew. They were professional, courteous and competent. Came in on budget - a very positive experience. We moved on a very busy June 30 and got a very junior crew with a truck that was too small.

Successfully moved us with a few minor things getting broken but nothing to get upset about. They did come in $600 over their quoted price. They came to my house and viewed the all the contents for the quote. How is it my fault they quoted incorrectly? Seems shady to me. They scuffed up the wall to the basement pretty badly but I guess that's what you get with movers? I don't know if that's standard or not? We have the matching paint I guess it's fine.

I was quoted that the move would require 4 trucks and 2 days for furniture & boxes. The first day with 2 trucks went well. The team was very helpful & cheerful. We got most of the furniture done & I said that we only need 1 truck for day 2 and I would do boxes later. I sent them pics of the furniture left for day 2. They came with 2 trucks. After loading 3 items on the 2nd 20' truck, they left without asking me if there was anything else that could be loaded.

Firstly - I cannot speak to this companies competence to do moving (packing/standard unpacking), this is i have heard is meant to be very good. I can speak to the appalling experience we had recently when 3 gentlemen delivered a 'VIP UNPACKING service for us'. It's hard to know where to start really, but i would AVOID this at all costs - they simply have no idea what they are doing and the follow up/reaction to our feedback was almost as bad as the service itself.

*Update * Our lawyer contacted you multiple times. I have the emails to prove it. -- At first, like most people, I checked reviews before booking with Bronte Movers for our move in April 2016. I read some negative reviews but also some positive ones, so I thought… sure, let's use them, there’s no way we’ll have any problems! Boy was I wrong. The crew showed up on time and was very courteous - we had a team of 4 guys for our move. The team was very quick and friendly, we got along with them quite well.
