In their own words
I cannot begin to express how disappointed I am in our overall experience with this group. I used a company that had moved us to Florida to set everything up. Browning was the local company they chose to make the move and send us on our way to Texas. We - the other company and I - specifically warned Browning that they would need a shuttle because of steep driveway below the grade of the highway, and the small highway itself. They showed up in a Big box truck. They began to handle furniture without wrapping it.
My driver was very friendly and helpful, however many of my boxes arrived soaking wet, which ruined the contents. I've lost close to $500 in records and collectibles and countless more in invaluable items. My computer desk was broken in the move, as well, and several of my boxes were mysteriously repacked without my knowledge. I get pressured to sign forms and wasn't able to verify the condition of my items prior to the driver leaving.
Not a pleasant experience just getting estimates. 1st appraiser over-estimated weight when I questioned it? He said I have you recorded as saying: blah, blah, blah. Doesn't matter. It was adversarial. I asked for a 2nd estimator who seemed nice but still estimated more weight than I have. Price was fine. Apparently, they have a 4,000 pound minimum? Again. Doesn't matter. When I let him know I picked another company? His response was: "Good luck with that." Nice? No. It was not. Both of the estimators were rude.
Thank you for considering us for your move. We understand that estimates can sometimes feel different than expected, especially when compared to a past relocation. While weight estimates can vary from move to move, we regret that we weren’t able to earn your full confidence this time.
While the staff was friendly and helpful, and David went above and beyond to try and resolve some of our issues. My biggest disappointment with this group was that they damaged part of our belongings (and then tried to fix some items on the spot without our knowledge or consent, which was apparent upon arrival) and also failed to deliver our entire shipment in one delivery.

Run...don't walk away from this company. They forged my signature onto inventory sheets with the condition of my household goods, and proceeded to lose many high value items and not pad any of my furniture when they loaded it into the truck in Tallahassee. It was padded when it left my house and taken to Tallahassee, but it showed up without a stitch of padding, so they apparently unpadded everything en route and never padded it again.

They're great when taking your money, but if you have to use the bathroom while you are doing anything in your storage unit you're just a general public and will need to leave to use the bathroom. My daughter and I were cleaning and organizing our unit when my 11yr old had to use the bathroom... So we had to quit the cleaning stuff everything back in and leave just so she could use a bathroom. Only a customer when I pay and just a general public anytime else.

It had been decades since our last move and that was a self move across town. We were a bit stressed about moving three decades of accumulated possessions. Never fear, Browning was there. Our relocation consultant, Michael Haimowitz, was great. He had all the answers before we even asked the questions. He was patient as we added or removed items from the list of things we were moving multiple times. Our move coordinator, Kaitlyn Desmond, was also a gem.

I have moved too many times, but the moving company can make a difference in the experience. Browning (out of Tallahassee, FL) did my latest (and last!!) move. From the estimator (Michael Haimowitz) that arrived on time and was very quick and efficient to the driver/unloading tech Tommy, the move was relatively painless. Greg (from the home office, I believe) packed my dishes, crystal, and many favorite coffee cups. They all arrived safely.
