After using them for years to move in and around Louisville…I recently had a horrendous experience with Cardinal Moving. The two young, clearly inexperienced movers assigned to my move were sluggish and utterly unprofessional. Their constant goofing off extended the moving time by hours, making the total cost a staggering 164% more than the original estimate.
I want to start by saying I don't like leaving a bad review but this was a nightmare. Few broken pieces of furniture ( I get that things will happen), but no power cords and remotes for 3 different TV's. $500 came up missing, when I called to ask if they could had seen or misplaced it, I was told that they don't steal. Week later I was speaking to a customer at work that said she just used the same company to move stuff and a bottle of medicine came up missing. So YES Sir your employees Do Steal.
If I could give a negative rating I would. My wife and I schedule cardinal moving to unload a 20 foot container on the Friday of the memorial day weekend 2022. Our container was hooked up to a tractor and was transported from Florida. Cardinal moving showed up, looked at the container and did not show up equipped to unload our container. They contacted their boss who told us they didn’t feel that it was “safe” to unload. This is at 5pm on Friday of memorial day weekend.
I wanted to give them 5 stars. I wanted to patronize a local business. I wanted this to go as easily and smoothly as all my other moves. I took months to mull over what to say. This was my first "local" move ever. All other times it was long distance. Packing services are a given, but not with Cardinal. The two man crew was busy all day, but I have seen this done a lot faster. At least 8 other times by the big names in moving. Took ALL day. Fine. Second day, the move itself. It was going to take two trips. Fine.
Pat, I apologize you had a bad moving experience but it was not with our company. I have personally checked our entire scheduling system and your information is not listed on any of our contracts or directory. Additionally, we do not run "training crews".
Two young showed up to move my things from Jeffersonville to Sellersburg. All was going well until they decided to smoke some marijuana on the ride. After they got high they broke my dresser, stated screws were missing to mount my headboard and now I've discovered power cords missing that I suppose are still on the truck. I called Cameron during the move, he didn't replace the two guys, didn't offer a discount and got a little heated with me.
Movers were nice guys. Communication and efficiency were lacking. Given a window of 12-2:00. Showed up at 4:30. Understand that your hourly rate of $150 is based upon a 2 man crew. 1 bedroom apartment took almost 5 hours and cost $710 after gratuity. (Which they tell you they accept upon arrival) That’s after getting $75 taken off for my inconvenience. Apartments were within 6 miles each other. Overpriced! I was told this is the sister store of cardinal moving Louisville branch. Different ownership.
Make sure you move anything that you care about. I wouldn't recommend Cardinal moving to anyone. Be careful and move all expensive items yourself

I can't say enough good things about this moving company! From start to finish, the entire process was smooth, professional, and stress-free. The team showed up right on time, handled everything with care, and worked quickly without cutting corners. They were courteous, respectful of my home and belongings, and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with everything. Communication was excellent throughout the move, and their attention to detail really stood out.
Sal and Z did a fantastic job. Careful, quick and just overall excellent. For a fair price too.
