In their own words
DO NOT under any circumstances use them for your move. They came in cheap and you get what you pay for. My items were delivered 4 days late (past the window). I received very little communication through out the process. I received broken furniture, missing items and wet boxes. By far the WORST long distance move I have ever done (i've moved 5 times). The drivers were unprofessional and uncaring.
This was our 4th cross country move. We used bekins the other times so we called them again for this move. Unfortunately this was a completely different experience. I have no idea what happened to this company, but I would stay as far away as possible. They subcontracted our packing and loading services to a really shady company (sav on moving and storage).
We chose Bekins from several companies interviewed to move from NM to VA. Max, the representative, was wonderful, friendly, helpful. The woman who helped with packing and cleaning was also very friendly and helpful. That was the best part of the experience. The rest of the experience with Bekins has been negative and continues to be. It hasn't ended yet.
What a horrible experience. The estimate for loading was way off and they needed a 2nd truck as the one they sent had other moves loaded on it. THe load was over at 1:30AM!! It was delivered over several weeks at various times and still we had many boxes lost or stolen. Communication was terrible, and it made the move and claim last over 1 year. Many elements of our claim were denied, and we had to claim against our homeowners insurance.
Back in June, we used Bekins for a cross-country move. This was our fifth interstate move, so we are not strangers to the challenges of moving long distance and we know nothing is perfect. This was, however, the WORST experience we’ve had BY FAR. Our local booking agent’s office was great, but once our move was handed over to the operations/logistics team, it was a complete disaster.
Jennifer, we sincerely apologize for the multiple issues you experienced during your move. What you’ve described is absolutely not the standard of service we aim to provide, and we understand the frustration and inconvenience this caused. We deeply regret that we didn’t meet your expectations.
I'm surprised to see so many positive reviews; that wasn't my experience. We moved from Utah to Pennsylvania. Bekins gave us an estimate of around $11k and said they would pick up and drop off between May 28th and June 14th. Right before the move, they said they were actually going to pick up on May 27th, which required that we get a last minute Airbnb because we weren't able to leave Utah on the 27th. Then Bekins only delivered about 2/3 of our possessions by June 14th.

More items were broken and lost with professional movers than I have ever had with just a bunch of friends moving me!! The company did a great job with communication, follow ups and they were very responsive to my questions and needs. They were great and placed my mind at ease during this very stressful time. I really appreciate the staff, the packers and movers. They were a lot of fun. BUUUUTTTT....

I was missing a couch, ad 2 very big rugs. Now, I discovered that I am missing a very large decorator floor mirror, kitchen items, crystal mugs, an expensive floral arrangement. two of my floral arrangements were destroyed. The driver of the Bekins truck was horrendously unprofessional. He dripped sweat all over my home, and silk furniture. He FLOPPED on my furniture dripping sweat.

The move from start to finish was professional and the communication of the process operation was ongoing beforehand and during the entire trip. Tim the driver explained the loading the route and timing. He texted or call almost everyday with a status. Jeff Krogan did the estimate and explained the costs of the move along with the coordination of the trip was great. His estimate of my load walking through my house what we were taking estimated 14,000 pounds. The actual weight was 13,700 pounds.

From our first meeting with Bekins until we waved the truck goodbye, with professional support, the amazing teams helped us immensely in our cross country move. We chose to have them pack all our breakables and everything arrived in perfect condition. The warehouse crew was great in advising us how to pack our soft goods with ease. The 2 packers were amazing to watch- how carefully they wrapped everything with precision.

Working with Bekins was more than just 5 stars. I was moving from Chicago to Arizona and the experience was seamless. Moved from Los Angeles to Orlando Florida and used Bekins to transport our home. From the beginning Bekins was great to work with. From the first call with Jaclyn I knew we were in good hands. She explained everything and was very helpful with the initial quote and consult.
