Colt Moving

I can’t emphasize enough to avoid using Colt Moving. Their estimate of time and volume was inaccurate, scheduling was poor, furniture was damaged and management’s responses were unhelpful. Paid almost $1000 more than the high-end of their estimate. The estimate to load was for two trucks and 2-5 hours. The expectation was that they would be done by 3:00pm, at the latest. They arrived 45 minutes late.

Update: Colt moving has claimed to attempt to call me regarding the matter, which is sadly not true as of 8/19/2026. Please be warned. I really wanted to be able to leave Colt Moving a positive review, and I deliberately waited to post anything because I wanted to give the company an opportunity to resolve the issues from our move. Unfortunately, more than a month later, I’m still waiting for a resolution and have now stopped receiving responses.

We had an absolutely awful packing and moving experience in mid April of this year with Colt. They ruined and broke so much stuff it’s insane. There is no way the reviews on here are correct. I suspect they make the bad ones go away so I’ll make sure to post this everywhere. My mom’s group is full of stories like mine about Colt. There were 30+ negative versus 2 positive. Reviews on there state they break and ruin your shit then won’t reimburse.

The worst experience we have ever had moving. They quoted us for 4-6 hours with 6 hours as the maximum estimate. It took their movers over 12 hours to move us. They sent over inexperienced movers. I don't know much about moving but I do know the heaviest furniture should go first. They insisted on moving boxes first. They wasted hours of our time and only recorded a short break even though I saw them not doing any work and have photos.

I’ve positively hired professional movers three times before, but my experience with Colt Moving was just the opposite. One of the movers worked incredibly hard and carried the duo, while the other was disinterested, slow, spent a large part of the day on his phone, vaping, and even took over over 90 mins in the bathroom during the first 4 hours of the move. A move that should have take 8-9 hours at most took 12.

Please do yourself a favor and never use this company for your move. My move was scheduled for 9am and they didn’t show up until 2pm. The only communication I received was from William at 9am telling me they were “a hair behind schedule” and that they cold knock off $20/hr to compensate me. William told me I could wait for the move manager to call me and let me know when they were headed my way.

My experience with this company hasn’t been good! My movers were nice but they didn’t communicate well with one another one was fairly new and they were very young. They loaded up things that didn’t belong to me and had to unload them they couldn’t find their tools it took them 4 hours to load my 2 bedroom apartment that was already packed and all they had to do was take 2 beds apart and 3 TVs down because I had a major surgery a few days prior to my move.

I originally had a good review up for Colt Moving, but unfortunately I will have to take that good review away. After being helped and paying final payment, I realized I had been overcharged for time the guys had not worked. Since I had already gave a $20 tip and fed both of the guys, I was confused why the invoice was not done correctly. I am not sure if this was due to the guy who finished it out or the system, but it’s been 4 weeks of trying to get a pretty easy to fix issue completed.
