In their own words
We hired Carney’s Movers for our move from Incline Village to South Reno. The move cost approximately $4,200, and we tipped the crew an additional $800 because we believed everything had gone smoothly. Shortly after unpacking, we discovered that the only item missing from the entire move was my wife’s jewelry box. Unfortunately, that box contained more than $20,000 worth of jewelry, including family heirlooms and other irreplaceable sentimental items.
Recently I pulled into my neighborhood at one of the only streets to access my home and found one of their moving trucks completely blocking traffic on the street. I had to backtrack and go out of my way to get home, and snapped a photo to send to the company. When I sent off my email, I received a rude reply accusing me of using foul language and that I shouldn't speak with their "hard working" drivers that way, along with a weak apology.
I had high expectations due to the rave reviews here and on Nextdoor. I’ve never had full service movers before so perhaps I was a bit naive to how other people pack for you. I expected my items to be carefully packed, and labeled in boxes so that I knew what was in them when it came time to unpack. They didn’t label any contents, they used as few boxes as they could which meant stacking fragile items and liquids. A few jars broke and covered many items in olive oil and pesto sauce.
Was told they wouldn't quote a price until after they know how much stuff they're moving. Explained it was a 30 minute or less move from one storage unit to another in the same facility with the biggest pieces being moved were a washer & dryer. Come to find out that this 30 minute job nearly $600 after the fact because of their "minimum" price that was conveniently not disclosed beforehand. 3 movers were also dispatched for this small job, and was told after the fact they could have sent two to save some money.
When my wife called the company she let them know we had to be out by the 24th. They got us scheduled for the 23rd and rob came to estimate the move on the 14th. He just called me today to cancel the move because my "house is in disarray and he has three bites on his leg" and apparently hes never been bitten so it has to be our house. We don't have bugs. Never have. The guy I talked to, Raymond, about this at the company said that was strange and that every house is a mess when packing.
It was the worst experience in moving they moved my office the movers were unprofessional cussing & cursing going upstairs while dragging my furniture. my desk was broken and scratched the top. I called the owner Angela my experience was not any better she offer me less than $200.00 while screaming at me and arguing My desk is a set with file cabinets. Farmers Insurance What can you buy with 200.00 dollars. to this day I have not received a call from this company, they do not pay their damages.
I've known Angela for many years. I have never seen her yell or scream on any occasion much less to a customer. We do not warranty particle board or pressed wood furniture. Most of it doesn't travel well. Those items are meant to be built and left in place.
The owner of this company is very rude and unprofessional. He accused me wanting to abuse his workers for asking them to work and move my household on a Sunday. Lots of people work on Sundays, it is a fair question to ask. I will find another company and be sure my real estate agent who referred me to this company knows of their terrible customer service.
This is not how the conversation went. She didn't want to pay time and half rate for a Sunday, which by law I am required to do to follow the tariff filed with the Nevada Transportation Authority. I understand she didn't want to pay time and a half but I have to treat my employees fairly.
I wouldn't recommend this company as they do not care about others and their lives. They cancelled after everything was scheduled and was date and time sensitive. It caused tons of chaos and almost cost me my job! They really didn't have a clue as to why I was upset! Smh.....

In their own words
I had a great experience moving across town with Carney’s movers. It was a bit of a complicated moving situation but they handled it with ease. Their communication is prompt and professional - they got back to me very quickly and we had things ironed out within just a few days of my initial inquiry. The team of 3 movers was great - not only did they show up early, they completed the job an hour earlier than estimated while still being careful and considerate. Couldn’t believe how quickly they got everything done.
The crew arrived on time and ready to go to work. They really hustled and did a great job of wrapping everything, loading and unloading. We had a lot of heavy stuff like fire files and a lathe but it didn't bother them at all. We also have three upstairs bedrooms with a narrow stairway and a day later we haven't found a ding, dent, mark or scratch anywhere. The move took less time than estimated and consequently came in a couple of thousand $ under budget.
We used Carney’s Full Service Movers for both packing and moving in July 2025 and are very happy with their service. From the initial consultation/estimate to the two days of packing and moving and beyond, the customer service was fantastic. The estimate was managed by Kenny, who did an excellent job figuring out how many hours and how much material it would take to get us from our old home to our new home.
This review is a bit late, as we moved in two months ago, but I wanted to take the time to commend and recommend Carney's Full Service Movers for the job they did for us. The whole process--from bid to delivery--went about as smoothly as a major event like this could have been. We've been told that moving, as a stress-inducing event, is outranked only by death & divorce! But, Rob Carney made us feel comfortable from the very start, and his bid was right on target!
