In their own words
We had a terrible experience with Centennial Moving. I would not recommend this company. We waited two months to receive our boxes, only to find some of them damaged with damaged items (they clearly stacked heavy items on top of the boxes labelled FRAGILE), and they lost two of our biggest boxes. We still do not understand how these could’ve gone missing.
Dear Clara. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment on your recent experience with us. As you know the moves from West to East take up to 6 weeks in transit. Your move wasn't delayed and goods arrived within the timeframe specified.
I hired Centennial Moving for my move from Surrey, BC to Calgary, AB, and it was a terrible experience. They originally quoted me $1,170 based on about 700 lbs of items, but after pickup they suddenly claimed the weight was 1,600 lbs and raised the cost to nearly $1,700. When I disputed it, they re-weighed it at 1,290 lbs (with no certified proof) and still overcharged me. I had clearly told them I wouldn’t get my Calgary apartment keys until October 15, yet they scheduled delivery for October 13 anyway.
Dear Prabh, We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, after reviewing your file, we must clarify several important details. The original quote was based on the estimated weight you provided.
These guys are not even in Canada. They are somewhere in Russia! They picked up my household for $2400 agreements and then charged me $5400. Total scam! When I told them to bring my household back; they told me I have to wait another 2 weeks to get my stuff back! I recommended everybody not to go with this company! Their reviews are mostly from themselves! I have recorded all their voices for the record to take them to the court! They get the contract and hire third party Russians to do the job!
Dear Fahim, We take allegations of this nature very seriously and wish to address your concerns thoroughly. Our company operates transparently within Canada, adhering to all local regulations and industry standards. Thank you for working with us to resolve the issues with your move.
Avoid this company at all costs. They add in all additional charges. Charge a 22% fuel charge, though I'm moving when fuel is cheaper than summer time. Was quoted just under 3k for 3000 pounds, ended up weighing 4500 pounds but charged $5900. Should you dispute the weight, they threaten you with a $400 charge if you want it re weighed then, once they have your stuff, suddenly they cannot stick to the 2-3 week delivery period. Terrible and once they have your property you are their prisoner!
Dear Melissa, We are sorry to hear you had less than excellent experience with us. We appreciate your feedback and take all reviews seriously, particularly when there are factual inaccuracies that need clarification.
Stay away from this company. They will give you a very low estimate, then charge you three times more. They lost one of our boxes, they still charged us for the relevant freight fees and do not take responsibility. No refund either. Steer away from these people.
Dear Sara, We take legitimate customer concerns seriously. However, the statements you have published are factually false and misrepresent the events in question. The written estimate you received and accepted prior to service matches exactly the amount of your final invoice.
Pros: - Friendly staff. - Management will work with you to solve problems (but there is some back and forth communication to get through their generic responses). - Dispatcher team very responsive. Cons: - I had to “chase” my move coordinator through text and email for prompt responses after I had paid the initial deposit. - Movers were sloppy. Scratched 12 wood panels on the way out, which was clearly negligent. Boxes that were clearly marked fragile were stacked on top of each other or put down on their sides.
Dear Charlotte, We are sorry to hear that you had less than excellent experience with us. We take all feedback very seriously and continuously improve our services. We understand that you have an active claim with us for the damages which is still not finalized, so we hope you will give us another…
Extremely poor communication through the whole company/process. Was jumped around from different staff members anytime I was in contact with them. Was unable to successfully reach a member of staff over the phone- when I did get through the staff member couldn’t help me and did not get back to me. Only communicates over email. So much repetition of instructions and information. Zero regard for people and their personal belongings going with them.
At Centennial Moving, customer satisfaction is something that we take very seriously and would never compromise under any circumstances. Unfortunately, sometimes unavoidable mistakes happen. In such rare cases, a satisfactory solution is always in place and preventable measures are introduced.
I'd give 0 star if I could. We had a date scheduled for our move with Centennial from Whitby to Nova Scotia. We kept updating our inventory leading up to the move date as we completed our packing and prep. Days before the scheduled move, we received an updated estimate (which was nearly a 100% increase over the original estimate, and nearly twice as much per lb as other movers), and had our move date pushed out by a few days without our consent.
Dear Crystal, We take all feedback seriously, but it is important to address several major inaccuracies in your review. You first contacted us on June 7 regarding a July 4 pickup. Based on the initial inventory you provided, we prepared and sent a detailed estimate, which you reviewed and signed on…

The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

In their own words
Flawless Moving Experience with Centennial Moving Company! I recently had the pleasure of using Centennial Moving Company for my relocation, and I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I am with their services. From start to finish, their professionalism, efficiency, and attention to detail made the entire moving process a breeze. Right from the moment I contacted Centennial Moving Company, their customer service was exceptional.
Dear Patrice, It is always such a pleasure to read how we meet and sometimes exceed customer's expectations. We would love to accommodate any further moving projects that you might have, no matter of its complexity! Just give us a call and we will have everything set for you.
Exceptional cross-country movers — highly recommend Centennial Moving, Steven (the agent with worked with) and the rest of the moving team! I worked with Steven at Centennial Moving for our relocation from Vancouver to Toronto, and I can confidently say these guys are outstanding. Before choosing them, I spoke with around 15 different companies — some gave unrealistically low estimates that later would balloon to $25K, while others quoted $30K right from the start.
Dear Kia, Thank you for the glowing review! We're thrilled to know that our moving services exceeded your expectations. Our team works hard to ensure a smooth and efficient moving process, and your feedback is a testament to their dedication.
I recently had the pleasure of utilizing a luggage moving service of "Centennial Moving" from Toronto to Alberta, and I am thrilled to share my positive experience. From start to finish, the process was smooth, efficient, and stress-free. The moving team arrived right on time, demonstrating a high level of professionalism. They were courteous, well-prepared, and took the time to explain the entire process, putting my initial concerns at ease. I was particularly impressed with the careful handling of my luggage.
Dear Yahoshuaa, It was a pleasure assisting you with your move, and we're grateful for your kind words. Thank you for the positive review from all of our staff ! Whenever you need us, we are just a phone call away !
I highly recommend Centennial Moving for your cross-country moving needs. I looked into many different companies and received many quotes, they were the most competitive. The clear, prompt, and supportive communication between myself and the long-distance coordinator (Steven Mills) was comforting. He set my mind at ease. When I had questions or concerns, he answered them all.
Dear Shari, Your positive feedback brightened our day! We're thrilled to have been a part of your successful move. Our team strives to make the moving process as smooth as possible, and it's rewarding to see that reflected in your experience.
