Used to recommend Clydesdale highly until recently. Recommended them to friends for their recent move and they had a horrendous experience. The movers took 3 hours to load up only half of their furniture and then refused to come back to finish the job, forcing my friends to last minute rent a U-Haul and finish the job. The reason given was that the house was “unsafe” which is absolutely ridiculous as I was helping them move only the day before. Truly terrible business practices, please don’t hire them!

We had such high hopes for these guys and their “white glove service.” They bait and switched us on who would be managing the process and mismanaged every aspect of the move. Once done they gave us a bill 30% higher than the estimate quoted and when we challenged it, they immediately filed a claim in small claims court. We just settled today for less than the original quoted amount. The actual movers were well-intentioned, but the management, including Declan and Wade are incompetent, mean-spirited gas-lighters.

Last October Clydesdale moved our possessions into a container and did damage in 4 instances. I let it go as we were going to have a renovation done. When we were going to move back in I sent the pictures of the damage to the owner and requested that they send people that were professional. They assured me they would. Two men arrived and after bringing a few items one of the men brought up two bedside table drawers.

I deeply regret having used Clydesdale for my move between Victoria to Campbell River. The the service provided was adequate but the phone estimate I got ended up being a calculated sham and prevented me to hire more reputable companies at a lesser cost. Considering the few items I had to be transported, I was told it would take about 10 hours time, 3 hours to load, 4 hours of travel and 3 hours to unload, at $135 per hour.

I emailed this company to request an estimate for a short distance move. I supplied all relevant facts such as square footage, address, moving dates, etc. via email. The company refused to correspond with me in writing and directed me to a phone number. Upon calling the company, they had no record of my request, did not have any recollection of my information, and required me to restate the particulars already provided to them in writing.

I am so disappointed in this company. I will never use them or recommend them again. Edit after reading response from Declan: My review gave no details. You are assuming I’m talking about the same customer as another review left before me. To anyone reading this, please choose any other company for your moving needs. I will continue to not give specific details because of the devastation this situation has already caused my loved ones. They have been harassed enough by this crew.

What Happened to This Company? Three years ago, I left Clydesdale Movers a good review. After what happened recently, and after my interactions with Wade-I cannot, in good conscience, leave that review up. I hired the Wade to help with an internal move and to remove several large items to the dump. Two movers arrived. In a Dodge Hornet. No truck. Watching two well-meaning men attempt to stuff a queen mattress into the back of a compact SUV was equal parts admirable and absurd. They were polite, and apologetic.

Not honest about pricing. Quoted one price, then when they got there they demanded double what they quoted or they wouldn’t unload the truck. Then they wanted to leave with our stuff and take it back to their warehouse to where they would charge thousands to get it back. Shady way to do business. Would never recommend them to anyone.
I checked with the manager and we have not had anyone named Paul Gomez in our dispatch book. We also do not have a warehouse either so you are not a customer. On a side note we do not do "quotes".

Wonderful experience. On time, careful, good pr, meticulous care given to wrapping, loading, unloading and listening. Not a single breakage except for one expected item not their fault at all. Very helpful and co-operative. And for a very reasonable price. And fast. Wow…all done by 2.30 pm, pretty impressive. Wade and his crew did an excellent job moving our piano. We were on a tight budget and needed it moved before our main moving day, and Wade was great to work with. He communicated clearly with me over the phone and assured me his team would arrive on the agreed date, and they did. The move went smoothly, and even though we couldn’t be at the new address, his crew placed the piano exactly where we wanted it. They were professional, reliable, and offered a very fair price. I would definitely recommend them.

They really do care about their customers!! I was in a bit of a pickle. A giant two piece couch in a rented U-haul that needed to be returned in 2 hours. And I did NOT have the strength to bring into my apartment (not realizing how big the couch boxes would be). So I made my way through a list of Naniamo moving companies calling for last minute same day 2 man help. And to no avail. After about 8 calls, I called Clydesdale Moving.
Our recent move with these guys couldn’t have gone better. They are true professionals that impressed us at every step of the way. They were the only company that suggested a proper way to handle our large and unique move and they did an excellent job doing it. They gave us a very fair estimate and the final price was right within the original range. I would highly recommend Clydesdale Moving to anyone in need.
