Take A Load Off Moving

The experience was horrible. The driver advised he would arrive at 10 am in Vernon from Nanaimo.He showed up after 6 pm in the dark. He called multiple times to say he was lost. He was given clear directions on which driveway to enter but ended up having to back out. My stuff was thrown in the back with other moves going to Alberta while my possessions were getting dropped off in Vernon BC. The driver tried to unload a dresser with the drawers in it and it fell to the ground.My neighbor and I witnessed it.

The worst moving company I have ever hired. The move out of our 2-bedroom apartment from Parksville to North Nanaimo was quoted as being 4-5 hours long by the company. Instead, it took 9.5 hours and we had to help the movers to speed up the process, which is completely unreasonable. We provided an accurate job description, including the elevator and second pick-up location, but it took 4-5 hours more than their estimate (even with our help).

I hired TALO in 2020 to move me into my condo and had a great experience. I was given an estimate of 4 hours, and two guys completed the job in 5.5 hours. I hired TALO again to move me out of the same condo in September. The estimate I was given for this move was 4 hours with three guys. Only two showed up, and it took them 5.5 hours just to unload my 750sqf condo on to the truck. The final billed total was for 8.5 hours. I contacted TALO to raise concerns and voice my disappointment.

We used them to move from BC to Alberta. Move date was April 1, 2022. Many of our things were damaged including walls at our new house. We put in a claim and now two and a half months later we have had no response. We have called and left messages (you can't actually reach a live person) and emailed several times with no response. Very dissatisfied and disappointed with their service and lack of follow-through on promises.

We hired Take a Load Moving to help pack and move us for our in town move on June 29th. Based on the reviews we expected better service and professionalism then we received. Overall while I was impressed with Justin and his teams ability to work long hours with limited breaks, we found the service extremely unprofessional and were disappointed with the move. Prior to the move we were asked if we needed any mattress bags and TV boxes, which we said yes to.

It's hard to fully explain their service. It seemed like everything was fine until the day of, at 5:14am on moving day we received a text from an unknown number saying that they may have to reschedule the move, giving no name or explanation. All morning we tried to reach the phone number they provided us. Their automatic message put us on hold for about 30 seconds then would consistently say that no one is available.

In all my times hiring movers this by far was the worst experience. Showed up 45 mins after stated time, not only charges for gas but also the time it takes to go fill up the trucks. You would think they would have their trucks ready for the first morning move and took 6.75 hours to move 1.5 bedroom apartment with. Distance of less than 2kms away and to note took only 4 to move from parksville to this place when moving in. The crew we had literally were moving one box at a time on a dolly.

This was a horrible experience using this company. When brought to their attention the issues we had they quit replying. There are other movers in town that do a far better job and are a lot more approachable and honest. Seems like others have had better experiences but after reading other reviews, when they don't come through you are SOL, don't take the chance when there are better options. This is an actual review.
