College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Atlanta

Won't own up to damage and have ghosted me on resolution! We hired College Hunks to move a 600 lb custom table top from our garage into our house. There were problems from the start: 1. Despite me explicitly describing the table top, the weight, the size and shape, College Hunks sent a crew of three guys which, as it turns out, was insufficient to lift the item and carry it into the house.

Advertised as reasonably priced, but the Atlanta location is very expensive and careless. Driver drove through our yard in two areas. Filed a claim with the company for repair and never heard from anyone. Also, not once did the three customer service reps I spoke with mention a $70 a person additional fee. When the "hunks" arrived, I was charged an additional $140 (which was refunded) for their presence. They filled up maybe a third of their truck and it totaled over $700.

Rating: 1/5 Stars (I wish -1 was an option) I hired College Hunks moving services in May for a small, 1-bedroom apartment move into a garage apartment, paying over $1,400 including tip. What I expected to be a professional, fully equipped service turned out to be an exhausting, costly, and frustrating experience. 1. Lack of Equipment & Proper Training: The crew lacked basic moving equipment needed to protect both themselves and my property.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with College HUNKS. The most frustrating part is that I used this same company last year to move this exact same bedroom furniture, and they did an outstanding job. Because of that positive experience, I trusted them again when I moved only 3 miles down the road. I chose the basic valuation instead of purchasing additional insurance because I had complete confidence that my furniture would be handled with care.

DO NOT USE FOR AN OUT OF STATE MOVE. I tried giving them feedback, and nothing was done or attempted to respite the trouble we had. We have moved several times and have Never has an experience like this and they are by far the most expensive movers we’ve ever used. NOT WORTH IT. We had our own 22’ moving truck that my husband was driving across multiple states. College Hunks’ only job was to put the contents of our 3 BR home on the truck.

Disorganized, Careless, and Unresponsive – Avoid at All Costs I’ll start by saying I don’t leave many reviews. I own a business and I get that things happen but this experience was horrendous and the after math with trying to figure out a resolution is just as bad. I used this company three years ago and had a great experience, so I trusted them again for my recent move in June. That was my first mistake.

This is not a legitimate moving company. When I called to book my move, the woman on the phone wanted a rough estimate of what would be moved, so we had a conversation that was merely a brief overview. When the guys showed up, they had a list of the large items I mentioned, but it was by no means complete. They told me this was all they intended to move. I became angry and said there was far more than that. The foreman said they could "bend the rules" and move more, so long as I tipped them well.

We used these guys in the past, you can see my old review somewhere on here. However is seems their quality of service has declined. Perhaps they are getting more popular and the demand is too much. Not only did they mess up the scheduled pick up time for junk removal, they had it in the system they were only collecting three items. Not only did I warn the scheduler we will most likely need a full truck, I also stressed three men would be needed after being asked.
