College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Fort Myers

Proceed with this company cautiously. I’ve moved with moving companies several times in the past, and for all of my “apartment sized” belongings it has always come out between $500-$800. Not with these guys. I forked out 3 THOUSAND dollars on this move with them over the past weekend. The worst part is I used my own truck (U-HAUL). My main point of advice is if you do decide to use them, TURN DOWN THE BLANKETS.

Adrian and Aj we're Awesome! But the last leg of my move didn't go so well. I will never use this company again and I would suggest no one else use them if you want your furniture to arrive safe. I wish I could do a -5 Star. People impacted with the Hurricane should avoid this company all together. They only give you 10 days to check out all the damage the movers have done. I have several antique pieces that were destroyed, broken dishes, missing items and damaged picture frames.

I scheduled a move in Fort Myers on March 20th with a 9–10 AM arrival window. The truck arrived at approximately 9:15 AM, I waved to acknowledge them, and they then drove away without any communication. At 9:20 AM, I contacted the office to confirm they were at the correct address. Despite calling three times, I received no response or follow-up. Because of the lack of communication and uncertainty, I was forced to book another moving company for same-day service at a significantly higher cost.

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had with a moving company. I was quoted $1,300 for my move, confirmed the appointment, and was all set to go. Then, just 30 minutes before they were supposed to arrive, I got a call saying they needed to “reevaluate” my move and that the new price would now be $2,300 — nearly double the original quote. To make things even worse, they said I would have to pay cash upfront before they even started. At that point, it felt completely like a scam.

I was asked to place a $100 deposit for a furniture move. I was called one hour before the move saying they did not have enough employees and had to cancel. This left everyone associated with this move left holding the bag. I had to scramble to get another mover and delay a day. I have called three times and 3 months later I cannot get my $100 deposit back. I would never recommend this company.

Expensive and slow isn’t a good combination for a moving company. I got three quotes to move from our 900sf apartment to a 1150sf condo - both with elevators. They were the most expensive per hour but sounded more organized, estimated the time to what I thought was more accurate, and mentioned all the safe guards they used to protect furniture. I will say they did an excellent job of wrapping up the furniture. What should have been 5-6 hours turned into more than 9.

DO NOT USE THEM!! I’m incredibly disappointed with the service College Hunks provided. To start I had booked them for 11 then was told they would be there at 12 then they didn’t show up until 1:30. Not only were they late but after providing the company with all the items that would need to be moved I was told it would take them 2 and a half hours but it took them over 5 hours.

I am a real estate agent and scheduled college hunks for furniture removal for a client. I have used them before and been very pleased. However, this time I booked online for a half of truck for $429. The property had stairs, so I called to verify that there wouldn’t be any additional fees… I was concerned about the stairs. I was told there would not be extra fees, but we would be given an actual estimate when the movers arrived and saw the furniture.
