College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Frisco

I used this company back in ‘23 and everything went okay in the beginning. My issue though is my fridge was dented by the movers during transport to my new residence although I dissembled it to make things easier with fitting through doors including taking the doors off. It was not secured properly in the moving truck. The worst part was the movers left with $100 of my moving blankets I paid for, referred me to their manager to ask for them back instead of coming back to my house to return them.

I just called to simply get a quote. The lady I spoke with, unfortunately I did not get her name, was not kind. She was rude but with the “customer service voice” rudeness. I have been in customer service for a long time. I rarely ever give reviews. But this one deserves my review today. She spoke so fast giving me quotes, and when I asked for her to repeat, there she went with her customer service voice rudeness. But she was that way from the beginning when I mentioned I wasn’t moving until June.

L management. Team was HOURS late to pick up my 1 small donation item. Still charged me $140 for my small item (took 2 minutes to load!). Ruined my schedule for the day by constantly giving me false ETA. On the phone they said they would do a discount for the late start, but they did not honor it in the end. The guys moving were cool, but their manager (Albert?) was unhelpful. Avoid!

I had an unfortunate situation regarding a recent move. I was setting up a move for a 1920 sqft house, explained what all needed to be moved, (which was roughly 3 bedroom/2.5 bath worth of belongings) and they sent 2 guys with a 15 foot U-Haul, no company truck, literally the smallest U-Haul truck you’re able to rent. Apparently the call center who was setting up my move did not explain to the movers the correct information, and told them I needed way less belongings moved than what I originally stated.

College Hunk Plano/Garland I have used College Hunk before but this was the first time I had a worse than bad experience. There were many things that went wrong. 1. I never received the 3 wardrobe boxes for my clothes. Now they must be packed and moved. I have pictures of my clothes still sitting in my closet. 2. I had a furniture dresser that was placed at the dumpster as trash. It now has to be moved in a separate trip. I must pay for somebody to load this on a truck and it be taken to my final destination.

I called the day before and the day of my scheduled pick up which happened to be the weekend Hurricane Harvey hit in southeast Texas. The pick up was in Austin, TX and every call said they were coming (there was a total of 5 calls). FINALLY, the driver called two hours AFTER the pick up was supposed to occur (after 6pm on Saturday) and said he called that morning to tell me they were not coming.

I called several times that morning once my time window (1:00 to 3:30pm or so) had approached and I had not heard from the movers. Their office had him reach out to me and I heard from him at 3:30 saying they were running behind. I had not heard back by 5 so I called again and the mover reached out at 5:30 saying he was finishing up a job. He ended up showing up around 6:30 or so by himself and got started but when he was almost done, two other guys showed up who were complaining the whole time.

Had to turn them away because the pay system is jacked up. They show 1/8 of a truck being ~$100, so we assumed a couch and a table and a box spring would be just a little over, but nope. Tried saying it was $350…that’s crazy, and it seems this happens a lot. I’m giving one star because your employees who are doing all of the heavy lifting are having to waste time showing up to peoples homes only for them to be turned away because the pricing is crazy.
