College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Houston

We recently used this company for our move, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Our vintage stone coffee table was completely broken during the move, and our dining chairs were damaged as well. We paid for three movers, but one of them barely worked for a significant portion of the move-out. To make matters worse, the team took over an hour to complete what should have been a 30-minute drive because they had to drop off that same worker and replace him.

I trusted College Hunks with my move, and unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst moving experiences I've ever had. After delivery, we discovered extensive damage to our belongings. Our couches, bags, and mattress were soaked, and we lost our entire crockery set. The damage wasn't immediately visible, so I strongly encourage anyone using this company to inspect every item carefully, including storage compartments, blanket boxes, and packed containers. Moving is already stressful enough.

One of their drivers tried running me and my family off the road this afternoon because I didn’t drive past an accident fast enough. I not only had my 5 year old and 1 year old in the car but also a newborn so I was taking precautions passing the accident as it had been raining all day and the roads were very wet. Once they realized my husband was recording he driver then took his phone out as if he was recording as well going over 80mph on the feeder road and swerving all over the place.

Unfortunately, I do not recommend this moving company. The crew was polite but they did not know how to properly move furniture in and out of a house. When you hire movers I would assume that they have techniques to get furniture & appliances in & out of a home but I was wrong. We had several furniture pieces & appliances damaged & parts from my treadmill were hidden in my desk drawer. I filled out their feedback form but I never heard back from them.

I have used this company twice—once in the past and more recently—and unfortunately, my most recent experience has made it clear that I will not be using their services again. During the first move, there were minor issues that I chose to overlook. However, the second experience was significantly worse. The team was inefficient, appeared to unnecessarily extend the time, and handled my belongings without proper care. Most concerning, my television—valued at approximately $1,000—was damaged during the move.

I hate to one star a business, but the experience was terrible. The team started arguing and at one point, just stopped working. Management eventually came out and swapped out one person. Their solution and fix was to discount me 1 hour. I asked for 2, but honestly - something close to cost or zero would have been square. The team was seconds away from physically fighting each other and following up on their threats. This was a huge time suck.

Called for junk removal, though it was weird they they quote per 1/8 of a truck and don’t give you a number until they get there. Well apparently 1/8 of a truck for $99 is pretty much a refrigerator… so a bed and dress shoots up drastically to $404…. You can move a studio apartment for close to that price. Extremely inefficient system to not give a fair price upfront so they don’t waste their time and yours… I guess they preside themselves on pressure selling once the crew gets to your home.

The only positive things I can share with this company is the initial visit. The area coordinator came out to the house to evaluate what would be needed prior to the move. Also, the movers worked well to get items placed on the truck; …
