College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving North Miami Beach

I don't recommend. They quoted one price and overcharged me, telling me they came from 2 hours away from there moving location where they stored my furniture on truck and picked up from i believe their warehouse. Two guys worked a month or two for the Company, when I thought I was getting a Professional job. I got amateurs breaking my furniture, they broke my glass lamps, lied about it, wrapped 3 orange blankets said they couldn't put in truck because they didn't want to break, unwrapped the 2 lamps after they put…

I have used College Hunks 3x - to move my daughters - and have referred them to friends, but always the Davie location. I do not know why I was directed to the North Miami location for my last job, which was packing up my house for a remodel, but I figured I would go with it, same brand, different franchise, but they all must be good! I was mistaken. I worked with Sam who was great to work with on the scope and estimate of the job. But the packing team was disappointing.

On Halloween I had 2 movers come to help me move some things out of my apartment to a storage pod that I had in our parking lot. First, there was an issue with the price that was originally quoted. Which caused one of the movers to basically go back and forth over the phone with person who set up the appointment and his boss.

Two men came to my house this morning to move a refrigerator and a 5 foot Christmas tree. I had everything already the door resolved the refrigerator. It was a 15 minute job at best I had given the $49 deposit. I was quoted $169 I thought that was quite expensive but since it was a charity, I said OK they then told me there’s a traveling fee Of $139. That would’ve made the cost of over $300 I told them no that was ridiculous, they said they would try to get the traveling fee waived so they called the office.

Editing review since the company responded below with blatant lies. I gave the workers a nice tip because it was an honest mistake by them and I assumed a professional company like yourself would have done what’s right and made good on your workers error. I should get my tip back as well. No one told me anything about extra insurance. I was on the clock being charged and I had to sign like 50 different spots and didn’t have anything explained to me about what I was signing. Your $90 is a slap in the face.

My mother used them for a move from South Florida to Central Florida about a year ago. To be fair, 2/3 of the crew were incredibly hard working and friendly and the pricing was competitive. However, the third member of the crew stole $3,000 cash and a check from inside my mothers home. Though my mother was suspicious of this crew member, she chalked it up to things getting lost in the process of the large move.

Movers are very careless. I had two movers and one of them tried picking up my 75” tv by himself and dropped it off the truck! They also dropped other furniture and I now have a lot of scratches and dents in my furniture. What did they do to help after they broke my 2000$ tv? 55 dollars off my move. Don’t hire them if you value your things.

Id put 0. Manager Sam freedman screamed at me because when i called asking regarding their arrival that was 1-3 moved back from 8. I had cleaning services coming to move out i informed them i had to be out at 330. He said he wont be able to do it and then had the nerve to scream at me when i called asking where they were at 330. Disgusting
