Space Express Moving & Storage

DO NOT use this company. Some points and issues: 1. Charged me DOUBLE to what their quote for the move was, even though I only had a couple of chairs and loose items extra. I use them for out of state move, quote was for 3k, ended up paying 6k. 2. They actually moved all my furniture to a different truck and a driver not part of the company arrived, alone, to unload a 4 bedroom house. Completely unacceptable. 3 people to load and they hire a single person to unload. The person did not speak ANY english either!

Stay away!! I booked moving services with Space express with agent named Victoria less than 24 hours before day of move. What she didn’t t tell me is you cannot pay via credit card for the actual moving charge. Credit card is to hold reservation. On the bottom of the confirmation email after they’ve charged a deposit on credit card in fine print it says you have to pay via cash , check , cashiers check, money order or direct bank app, THEY DONT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS!!!!!!!!’ Again they charge credit card before they…

Avoid at all cost! We ended up choosing this company for our 1-bedroom apartment move due to their bid being the best we could find. They were very responsive and courteous upfront. Our long-distance move was quoted at $1950, but once the items were loaded onto the truck, we were informed that we were over the original quoted 300 cubic feet of space by 280 cubic feet and our price was now going to be $4018. More than double! They also added wrapping at extra cost that we signed the contract saying we DID NOT want.

Terrible experience. Showed up late, making me miss my move in time at my new apartment - making them have to come on another day - which they made me pay for another days move despite it being their fault. They told me they would put my furniture in storage between the days and did not do that - left them in the truck in SoFlo summer for several days (my roomate used them the next day and saw all my stuff still in truck) and all of my items arrived soaked through and moldy.

I used Space express for an out of state move, FL to PA. I was given a quote, paid a deposit and then charged over $800 extra when they picked my stuff up. That was the first red flag, but I was promised my stuff would leave that weekend and since I was ready to receive it , it should be there in 5 days. After they took my deposit, 50% down and stuff, I had to contact them for updates. All I got were excuses about why my stuff was still in Florida. On day 20 I got a call from the driver they sent my stuff with.

Updated Review: My first move with Space Express was back in 2024—no issues, everything went smoothly. So, I decided to contact them again for my move in April 2025. Let’s start from when they first arrived at my apartment building. As soon as they parked the truck (in the wrong spot), they started the clock. Once the move began, they started bubble-wrapping my TVs without giving me a heads-up that it would be an extra charge. If I hadn’t asked, they would’ve added an extra $100 just for wrapping!

Don’t believe all of the fake 5-star reviews from employees, friends, and family members. This company is the same as every other South Florida scam moving company. They will low-ball you with a bogus estimate—courtesy of the insidiously pleasant Victoria—and then gouge you to death after they’ve already loaded your entire life onto their truck. I ended up paying almost 3x what I was originally quoted at. Tale as old as time and I’m still angry at myself for falling for it.

Space express Movers was a good idea when I spoke to Julia about how I would be charged $115 per hour to move from one floor to another in the SAME BUILDING and that we were going to estimate a 6 HOUR MOVE for my 2 bed apartment. I asked several times if they assembled back the beds and put up the drapes on the wall to which she replied ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE MOVED AND INSTALLED OR ASSEMBLED WE DO!
