College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Reno

Charged us an extra $2k. Demolished our electric fireplace. Broke handles on dining room hutch. Several dents in our refrigerator. They kept the hardware for our fridge doors and one of our beds. Left items behind and had to make 5 trips with our truck to get remaining items. Have been trying since the end of March to get resolved but calls to Sparks NV office are ignored. Have called corporate several times and filed claim but no response. Very poor customer service.

Please forgive this long explanation as I am normally not the type of person to write negative reviews. I was motivated to let others know just how disappointed and frustrated I was with College Hunks Movers in Reno / Sparks. A little back story – both of my parents passed away in the last year, most recent being the end of February. I was entrusted to review, distribute, and sell any household items of value that they had acquired over the last 45 years. As you can imagine, this was a fairly daunting task.

Beware. It is a franchised company. Corporate won’t do anything if you have a terrible time with them. I used College Hunks March 3, 2025. I remember very clearly. They said there would be 3 movers. Two showed up. One had a distinctive missing front tooth. And the other was a young woman. They worked two hours i believe is memory serves i payed for 2.5. After two hours the woman was resting in the truck with her shoes off. The third person stopped by briefly and then left not doing any work.

On 4/27/23 College Hunks sent 4 associates + their manager who came to help/teach them how to prep and move furniture while doing so on our time. They managed to damage our couch, entertainment center and the new flooring on the steps of the home we had moved out of. (which will cost us our 500 deposit) My wife and I ended up helping them through the evening because they were dragging their feet and struggling to move furniture without damaging it.

I called to make an order for moving a few days later I had to cancel the order then they say it's going to take them 10 to 14 days to return my money back to me. I have been calling them repeatedly about my refund and still have not gotten my refund they even gave me the number to the owner of call the owner's number I just keep going to voicemail I would not recommend no one to use this service at all they're quick to take your money but they don't want to give your money back if you go with somebody else or if…

I called. I specifically told them what I had needed for removal. I cleared my calendar. I kidd you not. I got over 10 reminders between email and text. Two kids come out and one crossed his arms looked at the pile and said nope that's a landscaper's job. I quickly had them leave and I am furious.

The operated Crissann wasted my time. Would not provide me with the information requested and insulted me. Go somewhere else where they respect their customers.
