College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving San Antonio

Honestly cannot believe they have 4.8 stars on here, I don't recommend you use College Hunk services, the movers don't value your things period. They gave us an estimate for 2 people moving us and then sent 3 people and conveniently charged us more than the quoted amount. We paid $164 over the quoted amount even after being way under the quoted hours, we used 6.5hours and were qouted for 10hours. They also added charges for stuff they told me was free.

We scheduled our move on the phone over two weeks ago for 11 AM. They called the day before to confirm our time and said they would arrive to help our move from 10:45-12:45. Around 11 I called to check if a mover was coming to help- at that time they stated they would contact the driver. The driver called and said he would be two to three hours late because of a previous job they were doing. I called the manager, Jessie.

I used this company for the first time a month ago, and I had a terrible experience. Not only was the house damaged, many other items were damaged. The worst part is that I had to beg the company to even speak with me about it, and when they finally did (after a month), all they said was that they would refund us 2 hours of the job. We have moved every few years for about a decade, and we have never had a single item damaged (we always used local movers).

Will not use again, would not recommend. Move was fine, except during the move they damaged my floor and promised to fix it. It has now been a month and a half since my move. I have called, emailed, called again many many times over the course of a month and a half. Every time it’s the same result. “We will send a message to the franchise owner but we are just a call center. If you want you can call their number directly.” So I do, and I receive no answer.

I had a move scheduled on 03/28/25 with this company. I had initially called the call center(number on the college hunks website) and then I got a text from Chasity stating that if I called the local office I could get a better rate/discount. Upon contact with Chasity, I got a quote of $730, which was supposed to include the truck/travel fee, and then the hourly rate.

I am filing this complaint regarding the highly unprofessional and unethical conduct of “The hunks, “ during my elderly mother’s relocation from Texas to New Jersey. My mother, a veteran, hired this company to pack and transport her belongings. Several items were stolen in the process, including an iPad and other valuables.

On their website it states that their refundable deposit is valid as long as the service is cancelled 48 hours before. I cancelled my services a week before. A refund was not initiated until I reached out to them. I was quoted 8-10 business days on June 9th and I have still not received my deposit back. I have contacted the company several times to try and reach a resolution but am being told to call the same number and keep getting the same response that “the local manager of your area will contact you” and I am…

I used College Hunks for a move on 8 May 2021. The scheduling was easy and the scheduler was very professional. After that everything went downhill. I was scheduled for the hours of 1030-1230. On the morning of the move, I was called and they said they had a 0730 appointment available. That time was not in my schedule so I told them I would stick with the original schedule (MISTAKE!!). No one showed up until 245 pm and I wasn’t informed of the delay. I had to call them twice. The job wasn’t completed until 9 pm.
