College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Waco

Do not hire these guys. They will rip you off. They charged me an extra $500 for the drivers being lost. I had given very specific instructions to a very new neighborhood. Drivers called at 1800 to let me know he is lost. I did not answer right away due to me being deployed. They should have been at my house around 1700. I called back 30 minutes later and a guy name Dan said since they been lost for 2 hours it’s an extra $500.

June 2024 I moved just 10 minutes down the road. I was contemplating hiring movers and finally decided to hire college hunks because my roommate had a great experience with them. That was not the case for me. I had them move only 5 pieces of furniture that just wouldn’t fit in my car. It took them over 3 hours. They also only brought a single screw driver, and was asking me if I had tools for them to use (which I had already took to the house cause I assumed they would be competent enough to bring the tools…

I told the two gentleman 3 different times they needed to go to a specific gate, once in person and twice on the phone (which I have recordings of). They went to the wrong gate and my move went over time by about 0.25 hours because they had to move after parking in the incorrect spot. Overall pretty unimpressed at the failure to follow simple instructions and being overcharged due to their error.

Disappointing experience for a full-service pack and move to Ft. Worth. Very unprofessional experience. Crew cursing and complaining the entire time. Two crewmembers started arguing and cursing outside. I felt embarrassed bringing that behavior to an otherwise safe neighborhood. Smoke breaks on the job. Consistently asking what goes and what to get over and over after I detailed on walkthrough with initial guy. This added quite the frustration the day of moving amid coordinating other logistics.

I have used many moving companies before. We used them for my daughter to move to another town over. Although most of the service was good, there are some things that could have been handled better. First, we labeled each box for the room it was going to (it is only a 1 bedroom apartment). I have done this with every moving company I have used for every apartment and home I have moved This company just put everything in the livingroom.

College hunks hauling junk.. in some aspects the name is fitting since these college “hunks” certainly treated my items like junk. I, single woman, moved from Waco TX to El Paso TX, from a 2 bed room apt to a storage unit. Of course due to the distance I was looking for the cheapest price possible which lead me to CHUJ - worse decision I ever made. These guys are LAZY, it’s obvious they do not take pride in what they do. My items were poorly package/wrapped, because they were rushing.

They brought a smaller truck, 20 foot. So they weren't able to get all of my furniture in I added. An extra couch. And they said that meant that everything else couldn't fit in there. So now I have a lot of stuff. I need to get moved. And this stuff was on the list to be moved. If they had a bigger truck, it wouldn't have been a problem. The manager that I talked to was very rude. He said the only thing he could do is set up a new appointment and I would have to pay again.

Quoted $988 for my job of picking up items around the yard and taking them to dump. I said that was out of my price range. Had them pick up some boxes I had already gathered up and stacked in one pile in the garage. Took 30 minutes. Charged 250. There were 3 of them. took another guy I hired later, 45 minutes to pick it all up and take to dump with just a father and his son. Hunks told me 3:00 then called to come early at 1:00. Told them that wouldn't work so we decided on 2:00.
