In their own words
Had a terrible experience using Collins Bros for a cross country move from NYC to SF. The origin moving crew was unprofessional and inexperienced. When they arrived, the driver mentioned that 2 out of 4 crew members did not show up and they did not have enough packing material. This was a fairly standard 2 bedroom move, but it took the movers 11+ hours to complete the packing/loading, including a 1hr+ lunch break.
I’m generally a positive person and rarely leave a bad review but with Collins Bros. I’ve never been more frustrated with a business in my entire life. I’m a multiple time customer and was treated terribly once I started looking closely at their billing practices. After agreeing on a price and accepting payment they proceeded to move the goalposts dramatically complete with surprise hidden fee’s after they cashed payment for services.
These movers knowingly parked their over clearance truck under a tree on our street, breaking a massive branch off the tree. They left the branch in the middle of the street, and when confronted about it, lied and said it had been there. When I pressed them on it, they admitted to causing the damage to our neighborhood tree and promised to clean it up. Only after they left did my neighbors and I realize they dumped the branches In front of a house less than half a block down.
You guys need better drivers. Just came across a truck who seemed to try to cut me off after they have stopped on a busy crosswalk on Broadway & 63rd Street (I was already trying to walk in front of the truck at my right of way). Yes, I could've waited, but was also trying to make visibility for some elderly folks who were already trying to cross the street as well.
I havnt had any work with them but their drivers blocked my driveway and moved my garbage cans onto my front lawn and when i called the company to make a complaint the receptionist who answered was pretty damn rude and when they transfered …
Despicable people. I moved à one bedroom literally across the street a couple of years ago. They charged me over $2000 which is more than à respectable moving company charged to move me out of state. Not to mention that Collins showed up …

Very pleased with our mover/driver, Richie, who handled our cross-country move. From start to finish, he was professional, polite, accommodating, and extremely detail-oriented. You can tell he takes real pride in his work. The crews he brought in for both the pack-out and delivery were just as solid. They were efficient, careful, and easy to work with. Everything felt organized and well-coordinated, which took a lot of stress out of the process. This wasn’t an easy move either.
I had the best experience with Collins Brothers. Their coordinator, Samantha, was so sweet and communicative. Also, Mikes crew was great. They were so efficient, great to chat with, and handled my items with care. I have use two moving companies before and I would definitely choose Collins Brothers again!
Scott and Becky and Sam made the daunting task of moving our family across the country in the dead of winter painless. Consummate professionals with a positive attitude and a much needed sense of humor, Scott and Becky and their local teams listened attentively and provided the best experience we could have hoped for. Not sure I will ever be able to move with anyone else! Sam checked in throughout, informing us what steps were to come and making sure we got the service we needed in real time.
Cannot give enough praise to the team at Collins Brothers during my recent move from Long Island to upstate NY. Everyone from Jamie in their office to Billy & his moving team were incredible. I really want to highlight how well of a job Billy did on both ends of the move. His team was always respectful, professional, and handled all of our household items with care. They packed everything with efficiency and ensured nothing was damaged.
