Hi Alex, we're truly sorry for the issues you faced during your move. This is not the experience we want for our customers, and we apologize for the stress and inconvenience caused. We’d like to discuss this further and work towards a resolution.
They broke a brand new rocking chair/glider for my baby, along with my dresser and several other items. Thousands of dollars worth of damage, and they gave me 60 cents a pound for reimbursement, which was about $200, instead of the replacement cost of the items like they said they would. They were very disorganized and communicated poorly, which cost us hundreds dollars in them working "overtime" for not planning accordingly.
We thought Colonial was actually moving our furniture to Florida. They picked it up at our house and transferred it to another mover. Some of the items were on time and some were three weeks late. Lots of damage done to our bedroom set and lots on dishes broken. I would not hire them again. Nobody would take any responsibility for the 9K in damage they caused. Not to be trusted. Find a reputable mover. It may cost a little more, but you will save money at the end of the day.
I used this company several years ago and had a seamless, efficient, exemplary move. I used them again recently for a short move from New Haven to Hamden, and will never recommend them again. I requested both packing and moving services for my studio apartment. They assigned the packing to one guy, and after 90 minutes (of packing only three shelves), he told me that unless I was willing to pay overtime, this would be a 2-day job.
My daughter’s PS4 disappeared after they moved us into our new home. I called and spoke with management many times, but my call was never returned and the problem was never rectified. DO NOT use this company if you value and want to keep your personal possessions!!

We had an amazing experience moving with Colonial!! We had a complex move with two different drop-off locations, one of which was a 3rd floor walk-up, and a TON of stuff. Our Colonial movers got everything done with impressive care and efficiency. They were very organized and clearly experts. They treated our items very carefully and nothing was damaged or lost! There was a team of 3 people, and everyone was positive and kind.
We moved on Thursday may 21st , we had the three amigo’s they called themselves I forgot their names , just wanted to let you know they were amazing!! They were very polite , very attentive to our needs , phenomenal job they did , very helpful setting up the bedrooms , funny and it’s was like we knew them forever. !!we were very comfortable and satisfied with each of them !! Exceptional Service from Start to Finish! This was our second time using Colonial Moving, and once again, they exceeded all expectations. Brandon was absolutely wonderful to work with throughout the process. Kenny and his entire team were exceptional—professional, hard-working, and a lot of fun.
