In their own words
This company was extremely horrible to work with. They showed up 3.5 hours late. The manager/owner Derek was very rude and unprofessional every time we spoke with him. The movers were reckless with our furniture and caused several scuffs and damages to brand new items. When asked to submit a damage claim, the owner was not accommodating or willing to work with us to alleviate the issues. We could have moved our own furniture for less money and better quality.
We apologize for any hard feelings. We gave your boyfriend the discount he had asked for because of our tardiness. Some moves run long and there wasn't anything we could do. As for the furniture that wasn't brand new we offered to have it repaired. Things happens every once in a while.
Take you business elsewhere! Weeks ago we scheduled a move for this morning (Mon, 08 June). We confirmed it four days ago (Thurs). After getting up early to prepare for their arrival they NEVER SHOWED UP! No call, just no show. No call from a manager or owner as to why we didn't get moved. Just a call two hours after they were supposed to show from a clerk with a lame excuse that they were "out of town" He wanted to reschedule for the afternoon. We had another appointment scheduled so we couldn't do that.
We apologize for any miscommunications there may have been. We do not have a clerk. One of the movers who was going to complete your job called. Yes 2 of our movers along with one of our trucks were out of town on their way back from Arizona.
I had a long distance move from the Twin Cities to Sioux Falls and hired Dakota Moving because they were about half the price of nationally known movers and had such great reviews. I was very underwhelmed. On the day I moved out, they were 1.5 hours late and didn't even call to let me know they would be late. I was surprised to see that they didn't shrink wrap any of the furniture before moving it out of my house as I've seen other movers do this before.
Thank you for your feedback. I will certainly have a talk with the guys on that move. The last thing we want it for anyone to be upset with us.
This company was supposed to arrive at 12:30 to begin loading. They finally texted at 6:15 to say they were on the way. This is after they had said it would be 3:00 then 5:00. Needless to say we rented a uhaul and did it ourselves! Horrible way to run a business! Will never recommend this company!
I’m so sorry to hear things went badly for you. That was the very same week we were taking over new ownership. The movers involved should have at the very least let you know the prior move was taking longer then anticipated. Needless to say it wasn’t very professional.
Didn't show up for Saturday move. They called and said they would come the next day. Sunday, called and said they couldn't come. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!
Horrible experience! 2 pieces of furniture ruined in there move. Made me wait 6 hours and came back and completd job. Terrible Terrible 😫 …
I apologize if we didnt live up to your expectations. I'm not exactly sure what happened or which day you are referring to. I'm also not used to getting bad reviews. We always try and take care of everyone.

This company did a fantastic and efficient job. They responded to correspondence quickly, were right on time, friendly and careful with items being moved. Very reasonable pricing as well. I would highly recommend Dakota Moving to anyone in the area needing help!

Contemplated moving stuff on my own, but so glad I got Dakota Moving to help. They were very professional, careful around the pesky corners, and true champs in the heat! The guys were very friendly to work with, great communication from beginning to end, and even helped put my bed together. Definitely recommend this company and will be sure to use them again in the future!

Five stars all the way. We hired Dakota Moving to move our bigger items. However, our main concern and the main reason we hired them was to move a 300lb washer/dryer combo unit down very steep/curved staircase. After a few complications the owner himself and another guy drove straight from their job in Madison and managed to get it down. Didn't charge me extra for the time it took to figure it out, for the time it took them to drive from Madison or the extra guys.

Fantastic experience with Dakota Moving. I got very fast responses via email (even on the Fourth of July!). Eric and Cory called when they were 2 hours out, and when they got to my house we spent 30 minutes going over a game plan. They were both very professional and took care with all my stuff. I was and still am extremely happy. They worked their tails off in 95 degree heat. Thanks guys!! The only issue I had was this move was scheduled through Budget Van Lines.
I'm glad we could help out. Sorry you had to go through that with budget. We try to everything we can to relieve some of the stress of moving. So we are happy to hear we made it a little more pleasant.
