Unfortunately, my experience with this company left me almost in tears on a day I hoped would be exciting and a good start to a new chapter. My family has used Devon Moving multiple times, but this is the last time any of us will be booking with them. Keep in mind I’m not someone who writes reviews but was necessary in this case. When I called to ask for an ETA the day of my move, I had a very concerning conversation with the owner. Here are a few of the things that I was told during the conversation: 1.

I will make an attempt to make some constructive criticism so that maybe it will help the owner of this company and all of his employees. 1) Email responsiveness was very poor from the beginning. I never got ANY responses for some of my emails. Email responses did not answering my questions. There is no security deposit confirmation email/phone call.
WARNING!! DO NOT BE FOOLED as I was by their seemingly high satisfaction rating. These guys are the absolute WORST!!! DO NOT USE DEVON Movers, ever!!! I called Devon Moving company on Wednesday April 30, 2014. They agreed to handle my move and together we set up for them to come to my residence on Thursday May 1st to move my belongings out of my old and into my new apartment. We agreed that they would show up between 1 and 3pm Thursday May 1, 2014.

I moved a couple of months ago and used Devon moving company. For the first time I used professionals. What an awful experience. They charge me for service I didn't ask, wrapping my furniture with plastic. They damaged a lot of my furniture . They took forever and ended up costing me so much for nothing. They charge by the hour and abused it. It took me half hour from one place to the other. It took them 2h!!! It was lunch time at my expense too! I read good reviews what a disappointment. Never ever again.
Worst movers in Chicago, poor lack of communication . Very unorganized, what turned me of the most spoke to frank the owner he doesn't know the importance of staying on schedule people have life's of there own cannot be kept in the dark wondering when and where my services will be completed .

I hired them to take care of my move. Initially he sent me a different quote but when they finished they asked for $200 more for tapes. One of the guys was very rude and they left all of their garbage by our house garage. I don’t recommend them at all.
If I could give a zero I would. We had a commitment to move on a certain day and they just abruptly told me they can't do it and that they'll do it 4 days later. The person was EXTREMELY RUDE TOO. worst experience ever.

They were very sloppy packing my things just throwing them together and then when they pack my storage locker they dumped stuff and threw it in pile without organising it it was the worst move I've ever seen
This was a eviction move paid by the landlord. Scott peterson was intoxicated and was only there for beginning of move.Nothing was packed properly. mostly in bags. Moved into a storage where it was already half full from his prior move making it extremely hard for our guys to stage.

Used Devon Moving to move from the north side of Chicago to Milwaukee. By far the most affordable pricing out of numerous quotes I gathered. Frank and his team were easy to communicate with and did an excellent job with the move. They were efficient and brought their own tape and wrapping material. No damage on our items after the move, too. In a sea of overpriced moving companies, these guys stood a step above. I'll absolutely be using them again if I ever move back to Illinois.
Devon movers were great, we did a lot of research for our move and received quite a few quotes. They were able to get us a time slot next day, in our preferred window and even were able to finish ahead of schedule. They handled our furniture with care, they were incredibly communicative, and finished right in the expected quote that was provided. Before they left, they ensured that all of the furniture was in the right spot and ensured the job was finished.
My 2nd time using this company and very very pleased. The manager, Frank and the entire crew are all friendly, fast & professional. They were such a huge help for me today. I highly recommend this company!
Movers were absolutely amazing! They were quick and fairly priced. They handled our things with care and even helped us move some things to the garbage which was so helpful!! I cannot recommend them enough, will definitely be working with again!!
