In their own words
We used Golan for a long distance move. I would not recommend. When we called, no one was ever willing to ever tell us were our boxes were. The specialists never called back when they said they would. We were never able to get a hold of the correct person and talked down to for asking simple questions and verifying information. Was hung up on twice for simply asking to verify my address and for information on the move.
Worst moving company in existence. Movers caused damage to my couch. Lead man on the move was very aggressive and spent most of the move yelling at the other movers. There was a language barrier and he was not able to explain any of the moving papers to me. He was also adamant on not bringing my couch through the back staircase, even though his other movers had told me it would be possible to do but would take a little longer. Lead man was too focused on rushing the move to care about doing the job properly.
They were recommended by an independent living senior center. I have advised the center to stop recommending them, as the company is dishonest, and tries to rip people off. They request a very generous 3 hour window for their arrival. Both times I spoke with their representative, he said they would very likely arrive at the start of that window. They did not arrive until an hour after that window. Towards the end of that window, I started to call the company.

This review is based on a cross country move from Chicago to South Carolina. Pros: The people who loaded and unloaded the truck were very pleasant people. They were extremely efficient and organized and all of our belongings got to us in relatively good condition. We received our belongings in a timely manner. And that's about it........ Cons: This company is anything but professional. They are sexist, demeaning towards women, liars and manipulate their customers.
Beware of this moving company. Golan's caused over 10k in damage to my basement flooring. After months of Golan's pretending like they would handle this problem, they have failed to make things right. They also charged us over 20% more than our quote despite having less items than quoted. This was due to the fact that the movers transferred furniture we asked them to leave at our old house. Choose elsewhere!

Don’t waste your time and money with them. Golan moving and storage is totally unprofessional, irresponsible and careless business entity. They will not only waste your time and money but put you in awfully absurd situation. Booked service for moving my home stuff. Deposited $250 prior to providing service. On the day of service they didn’t showed up. No call, text or any kind of communication from them.
