I’m not usually one to leave reviews, but in today’s economy, people work hard for their money and deserve quality service. My move was scheduled for 1:00–4:00 PM, but the crew didn’t arrive until 5:10 PM. While they were professional and careful during loading, the unloading felt rushed—boxes were placed carelessly and items were handled with less attention. After the move, when a 2nd Verizon technician set up WiFi service and powered on my TV, we discovered significant damage to my 50-inch Samsung Smart TV.

I have moved every 1-2 years over the last 20 years due to work and this was the worst move I have ever had. This is a shame as I have used District Relocators in the past and was very satisfied. However, this move was unorganized from the beginning as they kept pressuring me to change my moving time outside of the time frame provided when booking the move.

More than three weeks after my move, they still have not provided a proper receipt. Communication with their administrative staff is awful. When I called to request the receipt, they would either hang up on me without explanation, tell me to call back later, or claim they had already sent it (which they absolutely had not). After calling almost every day for weeks, they finally said they had sent the receipt. What they sent was not a receipt—just a screenshot showing a zero balance.

Unfortunately, we CANNOT recommend District Relocators as a moving company as we had a horrible experience. Thank goodness most of our items were in original packaging, or they would have been completely broken. The movers dropped items repeatedly and banged the walls, so much that we had to have a conversation about being careful with newly painted walls in the new property.

This is my second time using them. The first move went smoothly, which is why I hired them again. Unfortunately, this experience was completely different. While the crew arrived on time, there were only three movers instead of the four that were expected. I was then charged an additional $120 for an extra hour. One of the movers openly admitted that he had been out all night and was exhausted, which was evident in his performance throughout the move.

I do not recommend at all! First, the team was supposed to arrive between 9-10am - they didn’t come until 11:15. No call, no update. I had to call the office to get an ETA. When I did get an update, Ilearned that they had a trucking issues, but no one called to say hey we’re running behind, but coming. When they finally arrived, Jermaine, the head/main mover was unprofessional, rude and disrespectful because they had a other move right after me and it looked like I had a lot of stuff.

Look elsewhere if you care about receiving your belongings in good condition. The walls of my apartment were also damaged during the loading process (pic included), so I'd only work with them if there are literally no other options. You'll probably be better off renting a UHaul. I had a straightforward 1BR move from NoMa (DC) to Brooklyn (NY) that was quoted for $2k+. The largest item I had was an IKEA floor length mirror -- all of my other belongings were packed into new boxes.

Warning! Please STAY AWAY from District Relocators. Everyone at this company, from the management, claims, accounting, and movers (I think it’s the same person), is unprofessional, neglectful, they don’t keep their word and don’t care about their customers. I had a long distance move in October 2022 and on the drop off day, it rained and almost all my stuff arrived soaking wet. It seemed as if my stuff was just sitting out on the curb in the rain. All my boxes and moving bags with clothes were dripping wet.

My experience with District Relocators has been nothing short of amazing. Tony quickly got in touch with me after I requested for a quote from their website for a long-distance move from NJ to DC for my 1bd apartment. He spoke with me over the phone and assessed appropriately the quote and discussed a plan for a two-day move. The move itself was superb! Day 1 was move-out from NJ and day 2 was move-in in DC.

District Relocators did a spectacular job helping me move. I was so impressed and grateful for their assistance loading our house into the moving truck for our long distance move. The communication leading up to my moving day was thoughtful and helpful in making sure that I had everything necessary onsite ahead of time and to give an accurate cost estimate so that I would not be caught off guard on moving day.

Great price, great service, and overall pleasant moving experience. Have moved with District Relocators twice now and both experiences have been great. Will use for any future moves in the DMV. Akeem, Scrap and Derrick were great!

The actual movers Chris, Sean, and Jose were fantastic, hard working, and very helpful. The front office and management however.... My scheduled time was set at 10am, when 11am came around I called numerous times for an update without an answer. Finally someone called me back 3 hours later but without any solid update for me- just an 'idk where they are, let me check'. Unacceptable.
