I would not use this company again. We decided to relocate from the United States to Austria and contacted a number of companies looking for the best and easiest option for our dogs. This company seemed the best option for the relocation. We told them two and a half months in advance when we wanted to fly and how--surprise, they discovered a week before our departure that there were no flights for our dog that day totally upending our travel plans.
I am so sorry to hear one of your pets passed away a week after travel. This is the first we have heard of this. I do wish you would have emailed or called us so we could investigate the incident, paid for a necropsy, or helped with the vet bills, etc.
Maybe my experience was an anomaly, but these people were not helpful and caused nothing but stress right up to the point where my parrot was seized by customs in Germany due to missing paperwork (which they blamed on US Fish & Wildlife instead of their FFE representative who was there). I was able to take her home only thanks to my husband who speaks German and contacted the proper government agency.
Thank you for your feedback. I know shipping a pet can be quite a bit more stressful than people anticipate, especially when they are opting to handle a lot of the moving parts themselves.
First I would like to address my dog did make it and she is okay. Nothing bad happened to her. After comparing sites and reading all reviews f&f did seem to be the best option. if they were the best option, then all the other places probably end up killing your pets. I paid nearly $4,400 to pay someone(in this case F&F) to give me all the information needed for travel. We also gave them our itinerary with enough time to choose a plane that followed our schedule.
Vanessa, I am sorry you had a bad experience. However, I am happy to hear your pet arrived safely. We were very caught off guard by this review, as you seemed happy and even wanted to tip your assigned pet shipper.
We had a terrible experience with this company. We moved to Argentina, flying from JFK to Buenos Aires. Our labradoodle had to fly in cargo from JFK to Panama to Buenos Aires. She missed her flight in Panama, and Feathers and Fur Express was not even aware of that. After 62 hours apart from us, we finally got our dog. We had to make 3 trips to the airport, and only because we had made a new friend in Argentina were we able to get her from the airport in time.
Ann, I am sorry that you had such a terrible experience that left you feeling like we did not care about your pet. The frustration seems to be due to clearing your pet though customs.
I recommend visiting some of the military overseas facebook pages. This pet shipper received almost $7000 to ship animals, and they essentially took them to what they said is the "closest place", and then were done. When you pay that much for a service, it should be from beginning to end, not ending where the servicer decides, and giving a "I'm sure you're frustrated" response. User beware.
Danielle, After an extensive search, your name does not appear anywhere in our client database. It seems that you may be leaving us this review based on someone else's complaint you might have seen in a military overseas Facebook page. Are you certain you have the correct company as well?

In their own words
Our family moved from Los Angeles to Portugal recently. Our very leggy Bernedoodle is too tall to fit in the Giant Petmate Sky Kennel (48", 90-125 lbs) and we had to order a height extender from Furbar dot tv. The extra height made the crate suitable for our dog - but 3 inches too tall to meet the size limits of any airline's cargo hold ("extra luggage"). We had no choice but to have our dog fly proper Cargo (like where the really big dogs, horses and zoo animals fly).

I highly recommend Feathers & Fur Express! Moving our dog internationally was stressful, but their team made the process as smooth and worry-free as possible. Their communication was excellent from start to finish. They were always quick to answer questions, provide updates, and guide us through each step. I did a lot of research before choosing a pet transport company, and not only were they the most affordable option I found, but they were also very military-friendly.

I cannot recommend Feathers & Fur Express highly enough! I worked with them for several months to coordinate the international relocation of my parents’ two beloved dogs—a sweet black lab named JC and a playful goldendoodle named Mia—from the United States to El Salvador. From start to finish, the team was professional, responsive, and incredibly compassionate.

We were a military family PCSing from the states to Germany and found Feathers and Fur Express to be a huge stress relief. We didn't even know where to start with shipping our 2 dogs (one large and one small) and we were able to get a quote and ask as many questions as we wanted prior to even booking with them. They walked us through the whole process and made sure we knew exactly what crates were needed, how to set them up, walked us through all the documentation, double checked all documents to ensure accuracy…
