In their own words
I had Firefighters move me in Nov. 2010. They moved me from Omaha to Lincoln - from a house to a storage unit, they did a fantastic job - until I discovered 6 mos. later when I was moving out of the unit that I had some damage to my cocktail table and asked them to make it right. Matt who was my contact person would not always get back to me and when we did talk he would lie lie lie .
I recently moved to an apartment from a house. We used Firefighters On The Move that we have used on two other occasions - the most recent one was about six months ago. I moved from an apartment to a house, back to the same apartment complex. I was quoted a price of between $400-450 over the phone because I had used them previously. He knew what I had so he was able to quote over the phone. $450 was what I paid last time they moved me.
Pretty bad experience. I’d never used a moving service before, and if I do again, I won’t hire these guys. I could’ve moved my things if it meant damaging them during the move. I expected more and that’s what I paid for. I asked for 5 guys due to the nature of my move, 3 showed up on the job (8am) 1 more guy came 2 and a half hours later (10:30) talking about being up all night playing video games. They did not handle my belongings with care AT ALL and damaged a few pieces of furniture.
Hi Shannon, We believe this is an old review that was reposted from several years ago! We certainly remember our interactions. We apologized for any dissatisfaction and offered what we believed to be fair solutions.
The movers were nice but scratched are furniture, scratch are hard wood floors and dinged up the wall. They said we would have to shackle the wall, resend are floors and nothing they could do about the furniture. They said Matt would call and he did not so I called him. He was mad I called and said that how moving goes and since it was not long move it was so cheap he could not do anything about the price. He was an a- hole!! So they charged Friday LK price and we still have to repair everything hey damaged.
2 stars because of the polite and professional employees. Zero stars to the company. We moved from a 1200 sqft 3 bedroom home and was quoted $800-$900. My total was $1350. Why even give a bid if you are that bad at it.no fault of the movers just the bidder who is horrible at his job. Will use a different company next time.
Got cut off by one your guys on interstate and then when another car needed to get over due to construction they went out of the way to ensure they couldn't get over. I tried to get plate number but by that they were behind me. Needless to say ill remember it when I need a moving company!
Jennifer, We apologize for the incident that happened on the interstate. We are happy to hear that everyone is safe and an accident was avoided. This is not typical for our company culture, perhaps the driver was also in a bad situation. Needless to say we apologize for this incident.
I have been trying to call for 2 days now. Nobody ever answers or calls back. I get the voice-mail of Matt but the mailbox is full so you can't even leave a message. That tells me all I need to know about this company. Very unprofessional.
Hi Chris, Thanks for the follow up. Our voicemail do get full very quickly, especially Friday- Sunday. We currently have no record or way to return your phone call. We apologize for the inconvenience. Can you please call my direct line at [phone removed] Josh Berens
Used this company twice. 1st time was full 5 stars - efficient and well worth the money. 2nd time was one star: the difference was Matt, who is the reason I will never use them again.

In their own words
I worked with Josh (a partner/owner) who was responsive, timely, courteous and very reasonable. We scouted 7 companies received 3 in-person bids and 1 e-mail bid the rest never responded or sent an apology email. Aside from being the most reasonable cost, Josh seemed the super honest. His competitors tried to offer add-Ons like "free boxes" or quoted an obnoxious amount of additional hours in labor cost.
Firefighters on the Move! I give them 5 stars. I would give them 10 more if the ratings scale went higher. From the first meeting with Kevin, to the moving, with Matt Beck (driver) and his crew - Kyle C., Tony A., Trevor, Jack Z. and Ty K. it went in perfect harmony. They are true professionals! They checked out our house and started taking items out quickly and without any discussion on what or how to do it. Boom-2 hours later our 4 bedroom home was in the trucks and ready to go!
I've never hired a moving company before and after lots of recommendations and research, I chose Firefighters on the Move - I can totally see why so many people recommended them. I needed my furniture moved out of my second floor apartment to the new house I just bought, so I submitted a request for a quote. Josh got back to me fairly quickly and was very upfront about costs, so I set up a moving date.
5/5 Stars – Outstanding Service from Start to Finish Derrick C. and his crew were absolutely phenomenal. From the moment they arrived, right on time, it was clear we were in great hands. They worked with speed, efficiency, and genuine care, treating our home and belongings with the utmost respect. Every item was carefully wrapped, secured, disassembled, and reassembled with precision.
