Firehouse Movers Lewisville

The movers arrived an hour and half past the scheduled start time, which was pretty annoying. Once they arrived they were delayed again because they did not have the code to the lock on the back of their truck. After that was resolved they moved our stuff pretty quickly. When we arrived at our new house and they started unloading I noticed that they had my 800$ bike under a pile of heavy crap with poor padding. As a result my bike was heavily scratched with one deep gouge all the way to the metal.

I unfortunately did not have a pleasant experience with Firehouse Movers. I initially requested a quote for a pod loading, and another for loading into their truck to take to storage. After discovering the trip and fuel fees, I realized it would be easier for Firehouse Movers and more economic to schedule this as one service on the same day and time. The loading was at my house, and the storage was 7 minutes away.

SCAM!! We needed some items moved out of our apartment to be taken to the Salvation Army which will close at 3pm. They went ahead and scheduled the service. Unfortunately they couldn’t get here in time and wanted us to pay $150 for rescheduling or cancelling. I think this is terrible business. If you can’t make it in time reschedule or cancel without charging us.

THEY DID A TERRIBLE JOB!!! They did not WRAP OR SECURE THE LOAD CORRECTLY. They were very polite & friendly to work with. The 'SUPERVISOR" was so busy loading and securing that he did not oversee the job sufficiently. He did not do a good job tying the furniture in place, upon arrival my furniture had been tossed around the moving compartment. Supervisor,did not have the guys wrap the furniture appropriately. I purchased moving shrink wrap, rented 5 dozen pads. There were 3 dozen pads left at the house.

EDIT: Their response to this is a lie, they haven’t tried to contact me over phone or email. Even more of a reason not to use them. I used this company last year for my move and I thought everything went great until I realized a couple months later I was missing a box full of my valuable belongings! I had thought that maybe they put them in our garage somewhere and I’d find it once I moved again. Nope, it’s gone. My mother in law has also used them two different times and has had a box missing each time!

These guys were on time the first time and then they destroyed half Of my televisions, our 2500$ trampoline that they shouldn’t have taken down, wrapped everything in cellophane (the unpacking crew was astonished by the unnecessary wrapping - same company) took double the time they shouldn’t have taken and did things that we had professionals coming to do because they said no it’s not a problem We do it all the time… like unhooking the washing machine and getting water everywhere.

(Today) With GREAT sadness I have to update my review with this company. I cannot believe the service I received. As a single mother information is key on what expenses it would take ti care for a 911sq home and place items into a storage costing more than rent. This being a “christian based” company and the amount of inconsideration that went into the bill after items were damaged and there was a whole additional person that was supposed to assist and quit last minute and I had to pay for it I had all the items…

Let me first start by saying I have moved over 20 times, I pack well and efficiently so there’s no delay or issues to move. I have had many good moving company experiences and several bad ones. This one is on the bad list. I asked for seasoned movers and got two 22 yr old and a 27 yr old with minimal experience. They did arrive on time. I walked them through the house and listed certain expectations.
