Teleport Movers

HORRIBLE SERVICE. the first con was that the movers took so long and were moving extremely slow to move a one bedroom apartment 5 minutes down the road. When they arrived all of the furniture was broken down and everything was boxes, I made the move so simple , yet ended up having to pay for a 3 hours move that should’ve took honestly less than 2 hours if the movers weren’t using their phones the entire time and focused…. and had any sort of sense of urgency!

I’ve been a loyal customer of Teleport Movers for over 15 years and have referred many people. Sadly, my recent experience was very disappointing. The day before my appointment, I was told I’d get a call 1 to 1.5 hours before movers arrived during a 7–10 AM window. Instead, the mover called at 8:35 AM saying he was almost there. The pick-up was at Public Storage—not my home—and I had told the rep I wouldn’t be there until about 9:20–9:30 because I live 45 minutes away.

I hired this moving company and had really bad experience with them. First the communication was off the movers didn’t speak English. I paid for 3 hours of service but most of the time was drained in trying to communicate the mover had to call someone and use an app to talk to me in English. So the mover said the work will take another hour so I had to pay $110 for an extra hour. So I agreed to that out of understanding. Then driving to the next location the mover was in traffic for almost an hour.

Had someone call me named “Robert” to provide a quote. Spent about 12 minutes on the phone in detail, giving details and receiving the information and the breakdown of the price and I told him I would think about it because it was $200 higher than what was on Groupon and I would call back. Then I contacted Teleport Movers for a quote, someone kept picking up the phone and hanging up and then they started just sending me to voicemail.

I’ve used Teleport Movers several times over the years and have referred family and friends because my previous experiences were positive. Unfortunately, this last move completely changed my opinion of the company. My scheduled moving window was 12:00–3:00 p.m. When 3:00 p.m. came and went without any communication, I had to reach out myself to see if they were still coming. I was told the driver would contact me within 10 minutes.

This company cannot keep their promise. I told them I need a 26 ft truck for my tall cabinet and they agreed. The confirmation email also showed that the truck size would be 26ft, but they came with a 17 ft truck and moved my tall cabinet in a way that would loosen the back panel and bottom board. The cabinet bottom is chipped and back panel is coming out because of the mover had to tilt it in a way that would risk breaking it in order to fit the cabinet in to the smaller truck.

I was recommended by my guy friend to use this company, So I did just that! WORST MISTAKE EVER! Once they arrived and did the walk through, they gave me a quote of 5 hrs(5HRS?!)I then told them I wasn’t trying to go over 4hrs TOPS! Being that ALL 3 beds were already broken down and ready to be moved, all the boxes were stacked and ready to roll! And mind you my new location was ONLY 8 mins away!

I am very unhappy with the professionalism with this company. They are nice when scheduling and when initially arriving, but it’s downhill from there. They were moving quickly initially and around the hour mark started moving slower and then Proclaimed it was going to take another hour. This would be in part because they started moving slow and took a break. Many of my things are wet for a reason I am not sure of and so far what I have seen, my entertainment center is damaged.
