Fox Moving and Storage

Do not use for long distance moves! We were a repeat customer (used Fox in 2014 and 2017 with no issue) but would never ever use again. We were over 80% packed by the time Fox’s estimator, Oscar, came to look at inventory. Before the moving day, we further reduced our inventory by large items which did not affect the price.

Easy, hassle free. Trust worthy. 2019 Feb 2023 I hired Fox Moving & Storage of East Tennessee to move my belongings from the storage unit to a house. The movers encountered evidence of mice in the middle of the move. Half of my belongings are already in the truck. Micah said they couldn't move the remainders of my belongings due to evidence of mice. I apologized for the mice issue. I spoke to the storage property manager. Property manager apologized about the mice issue. I talked to Micah about my options.

Our move to Texas was a big disappointment. Custom furniture not wrapped correctly. Significant damage from rain coming through leaky Fox truck roof. Furniture pieces had multiple scratches, cloth chairs had water spots. Filed a claim and never heard back. Job was outsourced to independent movers who did not do a good job.

While my overall experience with Fox was pretty much terrible, I will say that the movers themselves were great to work with. They took extra care of our belongings and went above and beyond during an extremely warm time of the year for our long haul move. The problems really came with the owner/sales team. We had a signed contract for a long haul move about 3-4 weeks before the move date.

I had a great experience in the past, as well as my husband did in the past using you all, but likely never using this company again. The moving quote is a joke. ~$400 became over $2k with the crew we had. Upon arrival at the load up residence and doing the walk through followed by my husband adding a couple things outside, I was told it's ok it's more than discussed because they are "getting paid hourly anyways".

Terrible experience. I provided a time to meet me at the house to start the move- they were 20 mins early and not there yet. I arrived 5 mins after the scheduled time but my wife was there and requested that they move the items on the list and nothing else. They stated that some items were not on the list. I called the estimator who advised that they were missing a page but it shouldn't matter. They estimated a hourly rate with one truck and less than an entire day to move.

We have moved dozens of times and this company was by far the absolute worst! We had a full pack, storage and move to another state. So many of my very expensive items were completely destroyed.. Anthropologie mirrors, lamps, coffee table, vases.. all of which I pointed out as expensive and the crew chief promised to pay extra attention. Also damaged were so many art and framed pictures, they were all packed together with not even a single piece of paper between them.

We hired Fox Movers to move our belongings to a new residence in SC. We paid $6,136.25 total between initial deposit and final bill. We entrusted this company and were promised any damage was covered in full under our contract. On June 10, 2022 the moving crew broke a glass globe and a plaster bracket that held window treatments in our presence. They assured us they would report this to the office. Of course they didn't.
