Did not load all items. It was left up to us to move them. A NUMBER of items are missing. Many items were damaged. When brought to his attention, no responsibility was taken. He said he “did nothing wrong”. In short, use someone else.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! The organization is not truthful. They moved my grandfather clock and claimed they had a protocol for moving the clock. The protocol would be to remove the chain and weights. They took part of the clock apart and could not get the the weights off so they were left in the clock. While moving the clock in the house the weights fell off. The driver took pictures to take back to get my clock fixed.

We recently moved to the area and needed them to go to our storage unit, load it up, and take it to the new house. We were quoted $150 per hour for three men and a truck large enough to fit a three bedroom house in. We scheduled the move for 12pm as we weren’t closing on the house until 1030am that morning. The day we were moving was rainy, but we weren’t able to reschedule, so they came and the actual movers were wonderful and professional.

Gentleman Movers damaged my 100+ yr old family heirloom curio cabinet 18 mths ago while moving me from W Columbia to Lexington SC. The movers did not secure the cabinet properly, placed it on the ground and it fell forward shattering the curved glass door on the driveway...The glass took almost 1 year to replace and then Gentleman Movers refused to have Colonial Woodworkers finish the project instead having an inexperienced person reinstall the lock which was now broken and placed a handle on the beautiful door…

We had a bad moving experience back in the fall. The young men that did the actual moving were fine but the supervisor on the truck was not competent and two pieces of furniture were damaged, one being an antique. He took no responsibility for his actions. The owner of the company was defensive and took no responsibility for his employee and did not take care of the damage to the furniture. To finish our moving job, we hired our landscapers and they took better care with our furniture than Gentleman Movers.
Wow, Sandy, that sounds like a terrible experience. We are under new management now, and hopefully this kind of unmitigated disaster would never happen on the current watch. So sorry that your experience with that version of Gentlemen Movers was so unacceptable.
Recently, I hired Gentlemen Movers to do my local move from a list of six other companies I had Survey my house for an estimate. Their estimate, conducted by Michael, was professional and extremely competitive and ultimately won me over …
They ended up messing up my new wood floor and scratching my safe. They tried to use a marker to fix the floors then ignored me. Also final bill was 200% of the estimate.

We could not have been more impressed with Gentlemen Movers--the best moving company we have ever experienced. The crew were respectful, careful, engaging and kind. The booking was easy and we needed them on short notice when we arrived with a loaded 26’ truck from West Coast. The three men that arrived were professional, considerate, hardworking, truly stellar employees, but you could tell the integrity of the men they are outside of work. 💯 would recommend this company to anyone!
