The worst moving experience I’ve ever had. Unprofessional, disrespectful, and a full out scam. Movers were 3 hours late causing me to miss my elevator time. I hired them from 2-5:30pm and they arrived at 5:00 and finished at 11:30pm. Only made it to 1/2 of my moving locations and therefore did not deliver on a promised service. Made up a price, and did not give me an invoice, and would not unload my furniture until the e-transfer was approved by the bank (took 40 mins).

I don't usually write a bad review for a company but hiring Get Movers was a terrible experience for us and I feel the need to warn others. When the moving truck arrived with a name on it that we didn't recognize, it became clear that they subcontract - so there is unpredictability there and you don't know the quality of the movers you're going to get. The movers took items to our storage area off site and at that site they pressured us into paying before they finished the job.

I am writing to share the horror story that we are currently dealing with with GetMovers Canada. My son and daughter in law relocated to Edmonton from Ontario in August. Such a HUGE and brave move on their part, they are just in their early 20's. They hired this company to handle this long-distance transport of ALL of their belongings. Furniture, clothing, personal items... Everything. They signed a contract stating that the delivery would be completed within 3-21 business days.

I have had a horrible experience with Get Movers. They smashed and broke thousands of dollars worth of my furniture, scratched my brand new hardwood floor, chipped my fresh paint, we negotiated an additional fee for moving a heavy item (they doubled that rate when I was checking out, despite their own employees saying the fee was supposed to be lower), they were hours late, and INCREDIBLY expensive.

I would never recommend this company to anyone. The service was HORRIBLE. Yes, they came on time, but that's the only positive. My mom chose this company because it was in her price range. She wanted to move from a 3 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom apartment. She was able to get rid of everything so the whole house fit into 2 rooms. There were no stairs to climb in either the house or the apartment (main floor). There were also no appliances (only a small freezer).

The billing process was equally bizarre and frustrating. They insisted on charging us for 4.5 hours of work, even though the movers had stopped at noon, which was a mere 3 hours into the job. This led to an absurd conversation with their representative, where I had to painstakingly count the hours to prove it was only 3. To top it off, they demanded cash or an e-transfer, which was impossible for us to provide, forcing us to divulge our sensitive information over the phone.

Do not get these movers. I had two trucks ordered, the first truck the two movers worked very hard and had most of the heavy stuff out of my 4 bedroom home. Of course everything was well organized at my end to go into storage 1 1/2 hrs away. They arrived at the other end right on time. They were very polite through the entire move. The second truck was polar opposite. They had a 1/4 of the items to move. I knew this so I ordered a smaller truck and the same two movers.

Called in for service for a move in March of 2020, quote given was 560.00 for 13 items within a completely empty home. Deposit of 100 was requested and job was set to be completed in under five hours. Workers arrived and said job will take 8 hours and cost 1500.00 minimum for three men. I declined service as that was not the information given when booked. I requested to speak with the booking agent and manger about the cost and increasing the time and amount.
