Get Movers Vancouver BC

I find all the positive reviews hard to believe, based on the experience I had with Get Movers. They were extremely responsive until they had my deposit, but from there the customer service was terrible. The packers were late, and seemed to be a sub-contractor of Get Movers, not their actual staff. At first only one packer arrived even though two had been booked and confirmed. I ended up doing half of the work.

I had a very disappointing experience with Ecoway Movers (AKA GetMovers). I was overcharged by an extra hour, which I only noticed on the bill after my mom had to insist on taking a photo of it. I wasn’t present at the time of payment due to a personal emergency, so my mom was handling things on my behalf. They initially said they only accepted cash or e-transfer, and since my mom didn’t have either, she called me for direction. I told her to have them send me the amount owing, and I would e-transfer immediately.

The movers whom GetMovers contracted out are really nice and responsive people, however they were not the right movers for me. I ended up needing to do a good chunk of the moving (I’d say about 60-70%) because they were not the most efficient nor prepared. I would’ve been better off renting a U-Haul and asking a couple of friends to help move - treating them to beer and pizza afterwards.

The crew was polite, friendly, and worked hard throughout the move, which we appreciated. However, they did not bring any protective materials, such as moving blankets, stretch wrap, or furniture covers. As a result, several pieces of our furniture were damaged or broken. I was also surprised to learn that they were subcontractors, which may explain the lack of proper protective materials. In addition, one of the crew members appeared very inexperienced and dropped heavy items a few times.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!! Save yourself the hassle and spend a little more money to deal with a company who actually cares about your move. If I could give Get Movers no stars I would. The entire experience of working with them (or rather, with the movers they subcontracted to, as this is how they work) was absolutely terrible. We booked in the morning and had our booking pushed back repeatedly (often with less than fifteen minutes warning) because (they claimed) the previous move took too long.

Move from Vancouver-Toronto. No furniture, no pianos, nothing big nor heavy. The helpful parts: easy rescheduling. I was very ill 2 days before my move and had to reschedule the move. They were very accommodating. The movers themselves on both ends were friendly young people. The less than helpful parts: The movers were several hours late on both sides. I spent a lot of time talking with the Vancouver Branch Manager about the terms and conditions of the contract. We also spoke about the costs and about insurance.

Did not have a good experience with Get Movers. Very pushy when collecting deposit. Movers are outsourced by the company, which I was unaware of. Showed up 2 hours late to the wrong location due to miscommunication on their part (after I confirmed multiple times). I needed boxes picked up at 2 locations, but they showed up to the 2nd location. I didn’t want to pay them drive back in the opposite direction and they did not offer any solutions.

TLDR: incredibly late, lack-luster moving service. The company sub-contracts their services, so who we got was not who we expected we had hired. We booked a move for 10 am, and they showed up at 3:15 pm. They rescheduled twice on their end because "they did not have trucks available", and "had not finished their other move". We were told first 12 pm, then 2 pm. Obviously placed a huge delay on the moving plans.
