I highly do not recommend this moving company. I paid a deposit as instructed to reserve my spot, but on moving day they called to delay my move. Shortly after, they called again to cancel the move altogether. I spoke with the owner, Mason, and we rescheduled for the following day, although the experience had already left me with little confidence. Because I have a demanding work schedule, I sent three text messages and called twice throughout the day to confirm in writing. I never received a response.

Handy Guys, recently moved my items on 4/26/26 From Mobile to Houston, they tore holes all in my brand new furniture, took all of my furniture apart, and didn’t leave the hardware behind. Took my brand new bike apart and didn’t leave the hardware for that scratched up my brand, new bike and my husband‘s bike left items behind and said they would pick them up the next day and ship them to me in a couple weeks.

⚠️ SCAM ALERT ⚠️ Handy Guys Moving/Mason McEvoy -Do NOT Use This Business I hired Handy Guys Moving / Mason McEvoy for a July 10th move and paid $900 upfront via Apple Pay. They confirmed the booking, but then cancelled at the last minute claiming they couldn’t get rental equipment. The promised full refund is still “processing” with no timeline whatsoever. It’s been a week and they have completely ghosted me refusing to return any texts or calls despite multiple attempts. This is textbook scammer behavior.

***BEWARE***Not insured **BEWARE***make sure they are insured and you have that information. Call to verify. Check DOT. Had to go through my bank to get a refund from Mason. Did some digging and found out Mason lied. He does not have insurance to cover damaged property/items caused during the move. ***EDIT: The response from the owner is a lie. I even requested an update week after week with no response. We have spoken via text messages numerous times.

I would not recommend these guys. I had reservations based off of a prior move using this company and with these guys wasting time. Considering you are paying $180 an hour, wasting time is a big deal. Mason, the current owner, told me he was aware of prior experiences before he took over and assured me I would not have any issues. The short of it is, they took longer than any other mover I have used in the past and they damaged a piece of furniture.

It was terrible they were the slowest 2 men ever they left the beds so messed up put one bolt in stripped it and the other bolt backwards they left the bed slats at the old house I had to get them in my car they left all there trash everywhere in both houses very disappointed would never recommend it was Mason and his brother my mom's bed collapsed like they bent stuff up I literally told them to get the heavy stuff and then if there was room we might put a few boxes in they grabbed all the boxes and left some big…

I did not want to leave a bad review and tried to resolve the issue with the company directly but no one cared to even respond to my concerns. My items were placed in the storage without any care. All of my totes of clothes were placed to the back of the storage and furniture towards the front. When I opened my storage the mattress literally knocked me down. I had to pay someone else to come and rearrange my storage about paying 860 for the movers.

It's hard to think of a worse experience. My move scheduled for Monday morning was cancelled on the prior Friday afternoon and only after I called to confirm, no proactive contact from Handy Guys. Rescheduled the move for Tuesday and the mover completed only half the move, dropped off the truck at the office and walked out. The company had no other options to complete the move. I had to scramble after noon to find another mover to finish the job on the very last day of the month as leases expired.
