Houston Movers | Bellhop

HORRIBLE. Do NOT book with them unless you want to deal with a complete disaster. It was VERY obvious that they pay for positive testimonies and influencers- it's all smoke & mirrors. They are (by far) the WORST moving company. We paid extra to have the COVID move (contactless) and they showed up with no masks on, no gloves (and there was NO way we could've left because they were a disaster).

We hired 2 movers for 2 hours to move out of our 2 bedroom apartment. The first thing that went wrong was that one of the guys did not even show up and the lead mover said he has never even seen this guy on any move. Second, the lead mover did not show up with a dolly... this forced us to go to our apartment complex to get one to borrow but again very unprepared. They said they had a back up person and this person did not show up until 1.5 hours into the move.

Hired Bellhop to move a recliner, 3 pieces of furniture and two totes. We had to make significant arrangements to get my 83 with Alzheimer’s out of the home so she wouldn’t be further traumatized by the move into an assisted living facility. Move window was 2-3 - at 1:21 I get a text from the movers saying let’s try for 4:30. After trying to get the movers in the phone, some back and forth on text and again trying to get them in the phone, I get a message saying they’d let Bellhop know - whom never contacted me.

Upon hiring Bellhops and putting my deposit on file using my personal bank account, I then proceeded to cancel their service because I found the cost unreasonable. Bellhops countered with a more reasonable offer and I rehired them. I then made another reservation using my cc and Bellhops was instructed to charge my cc, not my bank account which was on file. They assured me that they would use my cc for the payment, but they DID charge my bank account.

I will NEVER recommend this service or company to anyone EVER. The team I had was helpful and great but the company as a whole is awful, I spoke with a rep and they advised everything was fine for my move before the date then I had my move and was done before my reserved time but was still charged & paid the full amount then 2 weeks later I receive threatening text messages regarding going to collections for a $24 deposit that I was advised was taken care of before my move.

Moving HORROR story. I would give no stars if it was an option. Do not use this company. Please do your selves a favor and go with another company. My move was scheduled at 8am they confirmed the time the night before. I got a text from the driver around 7.30am saying they don’t have a trunk and trying to get a uhaul. Which moving company doesn’t have a truck ready. Then they rescheduled my move to 9.30am. I texted the drive at 9.35am and he said he was picking up the truck.

Beware when booking a reservation with this company. They have a lot of hidden tricks they don’t tell you about. I placed an order online and was quoted $250. Then shortly after, I received a phone call confirming the details of my online order. The person on the phone said it will no longer be the $250 price, but it will be $669. I at that point decided to not proceed because the quote was nearly three times the cost of the online quote. Then I got another call asking me to confirm details of my order.

DO NOT USE THEM!!! This was the absolute worst moving experience I have ever had. The movers had never worked together and were all over the place. When more movers than I ordered showed up, I expected the move to be faster, but it was the longest move ever. At one point, I even had to ask them if they could stop standing around and put my bed back together. Even then, 3 movers put the bed together while 3 just stood around.
