If I could give this place a negative star, they deserved it. Not sure her name was. The chubby one she’s lazy and rude . They closed at 6 and I’ve got there at 5:55 she would not help me just to return my truck takes 5 mins. She put me out and shut the door and locked me out. Wow. Penske needs to shut this location down. Especially when we spending top dollars to rent their trucks , in return this is how their customers are getting treated.

I called five days in advance to rent a storage unit and Penske Truck for two days. When my Wife and I arrived we worked with the property manager Zack. He kept having to redo everything and seemed untrained and having trouble with the system. This went on for a hour. Not fun on moving day but we were understanding because we have all been new at a job before.
Shaddy storage unit. Incompetent employees, you can do better. I was offered the discounted 50% first month rent vs. rental truck provided at the new location. I was advised at the time of booking the truck that if I had a better deal through another truck company to bring it in for a “price match”. This was completely false information. In the end, they did not price match.
Predatory pricing, just to get customers in the door only to be left high and dry. They increased the price by a SHOCKING 120% after 6 months of renting- because apparently no one foresees how much a storage unit can increase the rent. After some angry calls they reduced it to a 75% increase which is still obnoxious! When confronted- I got to hear that thats the market price! Their website still advertises the exact same price I started with 6 mos. ago.

Be warned that your rental rate will increase every few months. Their business model is to entice you to move in with low rates then systematically increase the rent. My original rate was $46/month and now is $84/month. This was over the course of a year and a few months. Be cautious dealing with this business - rent is month to month. They can and will increase at any time. It seems like a safe place to leave your stuff - no issues there.
I've had my storage unit for over 6 years and never missed a payment until they changed their online system. When it was updated it prevented me from logging into my account. I attempted to reach out to fix the issue and wasn't contacted …
Had to pay $50 to have a lock cut off that would not open that they sold me and another $30 for a new lock. I've been with Irongate for about 10 yrs, you would think I would get a break on the price. Left there not very happy.😖 …
Do not rent a Penske truck from this place!! Had a reservation for over a month to pick up the truck at 9:00 am!! Somehow we were bumped to 10:00 the day before.... not cool when all of your movers are …

Highly recommend, I was in and out with a new storage unit in minutes, she was incredibly nice, thorough and made the process a breeze, they have an app you can utilize which is amazing, affordable prices and most of all secure!! Nice climate controlled units, carts and dolly’s that aren’t falling apart and an elevator for easy access to upstairs, I’ll be here for a good while.

I have been renting storage units from Iron Gate for the last five years. One of my favorite locations is the downtown Vancouver. I just rented a 10x20 space on 2/22/26. The place is so beautiful and clean! They do a great job with the upkeep of the property. So if your looking for a store unit give the Iron Gate company a try, you will love it!
