I hired JK Moving Services for a cross country move. The moving crew that showed up to deliver the furniture at my new home was different from the crew that performed the packing and loading at my old home. Other than one single red runner, placed at the entry door to the house, the delivery crew did not place any protection down to protect the home from damage to the floors, walls, stairs etc. When asked if they planned on doing so they said, "they did not need to as the furniture was all padded".

I hope these guys have improved since we used them. Their lead packer literally yelled at me and then refused to put our door back on its hinges (his team had removed it to get furniture through) when we needed to leave for an appointment across town at 5:30 pm. They had managed their time and packing very badly and expected us to wait after hours and cancel urgent appointments before moving overseas. Overall bad experience and would not hire again.

We had very high hopes for this company after initially scheduling our move, however, our kindness was quickly taken advantage of. The movers who delivered our items were extremely personable but upon them leaving we discovered that they had simply shoved all of our boxes into the garage instead of putting them into the rooms they were labeled for (these rooms were also shown to them and discussed during the morning walkthrough).

I hired JK Moving for their Small Move Program (DC to Austin) which contractually included full pack, transportation, full unpack, and same-day debris removal: all for approximately $6,762 paid upfront. On delivery day the crew arrived and told me they were unaware unpacking was required. They didn't have enough staff, had another job scheduled, and left at least 9 boxes unpacked, dumped items on countertops and floors instead of organizing them as advertised, and didn't remove the debris as contracted.

Immediately destroyed my high value item by smashing it into a box that was too small. Only one of the five movers was trained, but he was the one that smashed my high value item. He also wouldn't let me view the inventory as he added items or check box/item numbers as they went out the door. Did a ton of damage to multiple items, including furniture. Packed fragile items into a large box with ICE SKATES and no packing material.
I filled out an online quote request and asked they email me and not call. They proceeded to call me in one day every few hours over and over again, until close to 8pm at night when I had to start blocking their number. Then they continued to call using a different number. I had considered maybe using this company, but certainly never will now. What the heck?!

In their own words
Aug 10th. Diego & Jonathan showed up early to our house. Exceptionally well mannered gentlemen, great work ethic and communication between them and my family. Special mention to those two, they did a 3-4 man job with just themselves and they did it with an amazing attitude. There were bulky, heavy objects, as well as many other obstacles. My mother is disabled and needs a chair lift that is installed in every stairway segment in our house. It was a MAJOR hindrance, but they worked around it and got it done.

I highly recommend JK moving services for your next move. I received excellent customer service from start to finish. The two gentleman that helped me move my heavy bedroom furniture were so professional and made sure my furniture was well protected. JK Moving Services was great! Definitely request Miguel and his team. They are so professional, did an amazing job taking apart, wrapping, and carefully moving our furniture. Very detailed oriented. Left me a "parts box" in storage so that I can easily find what I need to put furniture back together once we move. Super polite and friendly! Above and beyond what I expected!!
