Overcharged and under-delivered. I had the worst moving experience with Lou moves you this summer. I pre-packed all my belongings, was given a time period of 12pm-3pm, and waited around for them to arrive. I had told them earlier that the storage unit I needed to move into closed at 6pm and they assured me it would arrive with ample time to pack and move my items. They arrived at 5:30pm to my apartment, with only 30 minutes to move my entire belongings into the unit, to the facility and unpack it.

I didn’t need anything special, and yet they messed up every step of the way. First I was quoted a higher rate than advertised. Then the crew was late, unprofessional, and hostile to myself and my partner, who wasn’t moving that day. The crew ignored my instructions and aggressively gaslit me when I pointed this out, and the urgency. I called Lou and he hung up on me while I was outing myself as disabled to explain my concern.
They finished the job in 2.5 hours but it felt very half-a&&ed. Could've helped tidy things up after they finished. I paid for 3 hours. One guy just stood around while the other was reinstalling the bed. The third guy was nowhere to be found after the furniture was moved up to the new apartment. They did the (minimum) job but I definitely feel like I didn't get my money's worth. They also requested a tip $30 per person which didn't help my feeling cheated.
First move with Lou was great! Professional, efficient and most importantly, organized. Second move with Lou was not so great. Not the same team from the first move. They were careless, sloppy and inefficient. They damaged several items. …

Best choice for our move! First, Lou is super personable and easy to coordinate with. On moving day, his team arrived on time, were friendly and highly efficient! They disassembled and reassembled THREE bed frames in such a timely manner. They worked as a team to really tackle all the boxes and larger items we have - even our IKEA couch! Would highly recommend. 10/10 experience!

Sweet Lou Moved Me back in September, so consider this my belated thank you! I booked a Labor Day weekend move last-minute and not only was Lou very communicative, funny and friendly over email, the service was incredible. I had all my stuff in the living room of my old place, and I was certain it wouldn't fit in their van. Somehow, the guys had it all packed up in like, 15 minutes. It was superhuman. It was like someone had vacuumed up all my furniture and boxes, and I still don't understand how they did it.
Friendly helpful fast. My 1bedroom move from Manhattan to bronx took about 4.5 hours but much of that was a slow elevator. Wrapped everything well, collected all the screws and bits on anything they had to disassemble. Would recommend!
I recently used Lou Moves You twice over the past 3 months - moving into a storage unit then out of it while I was out-of-state visiting family. His team is amazing!! They’re so kind, professional, and efficient. Lou is also an excellent communicator. Very on top of emails and making sure the process is seamless considering my building had a cutoff time for moving. The team also went above and beyond assembling my bed frame without me having to ask. Saved me hours of stress. Their prices are also SO fair.
