Otter Moving & Storage

We hired them for what should have been a straightforward move from our walk-up to a building with an elevator. Instead, it turned into a nightmare that cost us hundreds of dollars in damaged property. The entire experience was a disaster from start to finish: - Unprepared Crew & Major Delays: The movers showed up without basic tools like screwdrivers and power drills. They struggled to manually disassemble standard furniture like a couch and two bed frames.

Not the best movers ive ever had, but also not the worst. Were super passive aggressive towards me when they realized I had more items than expected (estimated 60 items, was closer to 100). I offered to pay the difference for the extra items and they said it was no problem. But it WAS a problem bc they had sour attitudes the rest of the time. Then, very abruptly, they told me they werent going to move any more items and they were going to leave in 5 min.

THEY LOST HALF OF MY THINGS and then told me that “there wasn’t any other part of this couch” are you joking?! It’s a 3 piece sectional couch and you’re telling me that the first section is the whole couch?? I don’t have my clothes, towels, and the people just wanted me to sign and tip. They’ve lost my steelcase chair, my jackets, my normal clothes. And then told me to go to their claims and to talk to their “boss”. WHO IS THE BOSS? WHAT NUMBER DO I CALL? Nothing. I’m so beyond livid.

We chose this company bc they had all 5 star reviews. We were told we would receive 3 movers and all we needed was to move from the third floor to the fourth floor. Long story short - they sent only two movers but we paid the same price, regardless. What really gets me though is they absolutely scratched the hell out of all of our bedroom furniture. Not a couple of scratches but many gashes more than I can count.

If I could give this company 0 stars, I absolutely would. Based on my experience, I find it very difficult to reconcile what I went through with the nearly perfect Google rating. I wish I had looked beyond the stars before trusting this company with my move. This was one of the most frustrating service experiences I've ever had. From the moment the crew arrived, they failed to follow my instructions.

Our experience with this company was very poor. The movers came much later than their scheduled time frame and then after taking pictures explained that there were “things on our furniture” and they weren’t able to do the move. The customer service was extremely poor and “David Pavlovic” was very rude and dismissive and would not clearly explain what was preventing the movers from starting.

This is the most fraudulent and dishonest moving company. They did our move and destroyed half our things. We also paid extra for their “ packing service” which was basically like having illegal laborers throw things in boxes with no labels and dumped them in our new home. On top of that, they have fraudulently charged extra charges for extra hours that are completely untrue The five star ratings here must be complete lies I would never trust this company.

I had a very disappointing experience with Otter Moving and would recommend proceeding with caution. To be fair, the foreman of the two-man crew was generally professional and easy to deal with, and everyone I interacted with in the office was genuinely nice and responsive. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the behavior of the second mover and several overall issues during the move.
