I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dumbo Moving, specifically with Walter, and would not recommend this company. My scheduled moving window was between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., but the movers did not arrive until 5:00 p.m. My building requires residents to reserve the elevator for moving, and my reservation was only valid until 5:00 p.m. Because of the movers' late arrival, my building charged me a $250 fine.
On Monday, June 22, 2026, I initiated the process of securing moving services, ultimately selecting Dumbo Moving. This decision, in retrospect, proved to be highly unsatisfactory. Note: The company requires full upfront payment for their services. On Sunday, June 28, 2026, my scheduled moving date, the confirmed arrival time was 1:00 PM.
Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience with Dumbo moving. Once the movers arrived, the main guy driving the truck immediately tried to intimidate me. I walked him through the apartment, showing him all the bins and furniture he'd need to take, and he was negative about taking anything at all. Then, once they had packed the truck with bins and still had plenty of space in it, he told me that they wouldn't be able to fill the rest of the truck unless I made another deal with him.
We had a horrible experience with Dumbo Moving - we provided a thorough inventory and did a full bait and switch with pricing. The movers were incredibly rude to me, asking "where is your husband," and left all of our items on the street unattended while they went to get lunch without alerting me. The team was disrespectful and their manager demanded we pay more money in the middle of the move or he would remove the crew immediately.
Broken items. Arrived 4-6 hours late. Forgot one of 8 bags in storage. They apologized and said they will bring it the next day. Day 1 nothing. No delivery. Day 2 nothing. No delivery. Currently still awaiting delivery of forgotten bag. You ARE better off with Task Rabbit. Oh and I paid $1000 + cash tips for safe storage keeping btw. And they still operate with such incompetence.
Avoid Dumbo Moving. They sent contracted movers who arrived hours before our agreed time, completely messing up our strict building elevator reservations. Neither the contractors nor Dumbo’s phone support knew what to do, leaving us on the …

We recently used Dumbo Moving and couldn't be happier with the experience. Booking was smooth from the start - the team made scheduling and setup easy, with clear communication and no surprises on moving day. Truck 71's crew especially - Peter, Lou, and George - were OUTSTANDING. They were incredibly efficient, working quickly without ever feeling rushed, and patient with our specific requests throughout the move.
I just had to relocate my entire Manhattan professional recording studio and am SO GRATEFUL that I chose Dumbo Moving. My move was a difficult move: multiple rooms of studio furniture, huge heavy custom studio desks, special made sound panels, not to mention large amounts of expensive, sensitive, and sometimes rare studio gear and musical instruments... to say I was stressed out over this move was an understatement. However, I felt taken care of from the very first phone call.
WOW! I am impressed by the service. In the past, I always had issues with movers, and this is the first time I've had such a smooth and easy experience. The booking process was simple and stress-free. I worked with Jay, who was able to arrange my move on short notice. Levan Jibuti and his crew were absolutely amazing and handled all of my belongings with great care. I couldn't believe how efficient and professional they were. They even took extra time to make sure everything was set up exactly how I wanted it.
We had an excellent experience with Truck 71 from Dumbo Moving. The crew arrived right on time at 7:00 AM and was professional, courteous, and incredibly hardworking throughout the entire move. They handled our furniture and fragile items with great care, worked efficiently despite the challenging stairs, and made what could have been a stressful day feel smooth and organized. The team was respectful, communicated well, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was moved safely into our new home.
