Overall experience was okay, I had high hopes since they came as a referral from my neighbor. I was quoted for 4 guys for 4 hrs with great rates and everything was explained nicely. Day of the move, they showed up almost 2 hours later than the window, it off to a rough start. Seemed like two experienced guys with two newer movers. I even moved with them the whole day to offload some of the items. Started out strong but fizzled out because they were so burned out halfway through.
This was bar none the worst moving experience my wife and I have ever had. We hired Make Moves to do a local move (10 minutes between houses) after we bought our new house in early July 2020. They were unprofessional, careless with many of our things (primarily the one seemingly newer guy who was with them), short staffed by two people, and of the 4 guys they did send, two of them absolutely hated each other, complained about working for the company, and turned everything into a complete ordeal.
The labor team arrived slightly late and one man short (no big deal) but was professional throughout the entire process. Unfortunately, the office sent a truck that was far too small for the job, which resulted in us being unable to complete our move in one trip. The team also had to fight the small truck to load only a partial load. Everything included on our estimate was unable to fit on the small U-haul (yes, they brought a U-haul for a four BR home).
I used these guys 2 times total. For 2 separate moves. My first move with the company was FULLY FINE. No broken Property or issues. BUT the 2nd time ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE… They was supposed to come with a full crew mean while right before they got there over 2 guys canceled so it was only half a crew once they arrived to move everything in. They were trying to move it quickly as possible with no care at all how anything was placed or set down.
Hi Liam. We have no records of ever conducting a move under your name. Also, we have not received any damage claims nor have we sent a smaller crew to any of our jobs.
All the reviews about the speed of the crew are accurate. They packed and moved my 2 bedroom apartment in less than 6 hours total. But I wish I went with a company that wasn't as rushed. They packed a poison mouse trap in with our kitchen utensils in the same box. A bag of dirty diapers was boxed up and packed on the truck. Only half of the pieces from my child's crib were loaded onto the truck. Many of the boxes they packed were not labeled and placed in completely wrong areas of my new home.
Unexpected Charges and Poor Planning — Be Cautious I hired Make Moves LLC based on two detailed quotes from their manager, Nick: $885 for packing and $1,619 for moving. I expected to pay around $2,500 total. Instead, I was charged $4,817.75, almost double the estimate. Several issues led to this overage: Poor planning: The truck they sent wasn’t large enough to fit everything. Nick admitted this mid-move but still charged me for a second truck and two extra movers.
My experience is different then most. I had new construction so mud etc. to deal with. They do not do prior on site check and rely on satellite to view the property. Not adequate in my situation. i took the driver to the new house to view and he still managed to stick the truck in the mud on the first trip. No real team leader, just the driver whose response was to put his head on the steering wheel and not knowing what to do so I had to take charge.
So today as I sat on balcony of our luxury highrise a moving truck with your company logo pulled up to move someone in . Three African American gentleman where in truck and got.out.our.staff went to them to show.them.where.to.park.and unload. These men where so combative and the driver was angry and clearly couldn't control truck properly He ranted.ovet.and.ovet.a few times about.it.beimg unsafe . Around our.parkimg garage.

**5/5 Stars – Make Moves LLC Handled My Storage Move Perfectly!** I recently used Make Moves LLC for a move that involved packing up my place, stored it on a truck for two days, and then delivering and unloading it all at my new home. The whole process was seamless, professional, and stress-free—exactly what I needed during a transitional move. The three movers assigned to both legs of the job—**Charles, Orlando, and Rome**—were absolutely outstanding.
I am a Realtor, so I work with moving companies a lot. I have experience with a lot of moving companies, but when I needed to move my family, the movers I chose were "Make Moves". Just had another outstanding experience with these guys. I needed a tanker desk moved upstairs past a stained glass window. I requested an estimate and received an immediate call from Nick, who walked me through their availability and provided a quote. He was able to get someone out within two days so I didn't have a desk sitting in my foyer over the holidays.
