Meathead Movers

Worst moving experience, and we have used 2 other moving companies in the last 7 years. Meathead Movers sent 3 movers (one mentor and 2 inexperienced movers). The initial estimated moving time was 3-4 hours, they eventually took NINE hours (and included the one hour lunchtime when they were resting; and we also bought complimentary lunch for the movers, but they decided to charge us one hour of moving cost ($400 hourly rate).

Not the greatest move or professionalism. Contracted these guys for the second time (first move a few years ago was pretty seamless, this move was a disaster). I wrote the below to customer service as the move was wrapping up on Aug 28th and zero response from management. “I am extremely disappointed by the level of service provided by your company for my mother’s move today.

This review of a one star is strictly based on the operations/communication side of the company. The movers themselves were fantastic! We were getting quotes a month ago when we found out we were moving. We spoke to a rep named Marc and spent about 45min on the phone call. My husband specifically stated that I was pregnant therefore we want to hire someone who will PACK and move us. We spent 45 min going through inventory of our entire home.

While I'm sure they are a well oiled moving machine, they are WAY over priced for the area. Just 10 minutes of price comparison shows that for the same services provided by other moving companies locally, Meathead movers are charging at least DOUBLE if not TRIPLE what their DIRECT COMPETITION and other well established and professional moving companies charge.

I sold my house used in September 2024 and used Meathead Mover’s to move my belongings to a storage unit and an additional address for drop off and pick up prior to going to the storage unit. The guys were awesome! They performed the job with professionalism and in a timely manner. Because the service was so good I hired Meathead Mover’s again to move a bedroom set from a location, and then move the storage unit to my new home. WHAT A DISASTER!!

Absolutely appalling experience! First of all, they charge per box packed so most of the boxes were 60% full at most upon unpacking so they can charge more. There were additional issues during the move that were somewhat resolved. But the movers are poorly trained in moving furniture & completely scratched up the flooring in my new apartment!! They bombard you with calls & texts to book the job. But when I filed a claim, any communication has been ignored for over a month now.

Cost 900 dollars to load a 4 bedroom house into a truck. Same job cost much less with meathead back in September 2023. The only reason I chose meathead, knowing they cost almost double the average mover, is because they promise to give you big strong athletes. Back in September that was the case. This time they sent over one big strong guy and one other employee who was clearly new but was also only about 150 pounds.

Customer service was very attentive and Meathead also provides concierge services for utilities and other moving needs. However, I was less than impressed with the packing and moving experience. While the staff were all super nice, some of the practices were questionable and service was slow. Packing: most boxes were not packed full, which resulted in an expensive change order for more boxes.
