MiniMoves Inc.- Local, State to State and International Moving Services

Used them a year ago, never got around to posting a review- they are a broker, they hire local moving companies to do the moves. I moved from southern California to Minnesota everything was great with the communication, the moving crews on both ends were great, pricing was what was expected and quoted, though I had to update a few times. Didn't run into any real problems until I noticed that part of my bed frame was missing so couldn't put my bed together.

First the driver gets lost and is late for pick up. Then they broke the base lags of the armoire. Delivery was even worse. Also arrived late, but not with our stuff! He returned late night and was able to deliver only because the building let him use the service elevator extra hours. The dispatcher was very unprofessional and abrupt. He gave your delivery driver the wrong instructions for our stuff. On the phone he talks to several people at once. Very poor service!

UPDATE: The company rectified the situation by charging the lowest amount of the initial (non-fraudulent quote). While this is a better outcome, this should have been the first response when the fraud occurred. I cannot change the star rating based of the poor solutions prior to writing a review. Summary: A signature that was not mine was signed for a much higher amount without my consent. Initial review: This company committed fraud and up-charged me in the process.

These people are thieves and scam artists and have terrible customer service. Their movers opened my electronics boxes (labeled based on contents) and stole $1000 worth of items. I even tipped them over 20% and bought them lunch. The company then tried to refund me less than 25% of what they stole but only if I promised not to write a review about my experience. They have no sense of customer service and force people to leave them good reviews or they won’t remedy their errors.

Extremely disappointing and completely unacceptable experience. I hired this moving company for a scheduled move, and they simply did not show up on the day of the move. No mover arrived as promised, and this caused major stress, inconvenience, and disruption to my entire moving plan. Moving day is not something a customer can casually reschedule. People arrange time off, coordinate buildings, elevators, family help, utilities, leases, closing dates, and other logistics around the mover’s commitment.

Edit: added invoice # (88430) because their response was that they had no record of us as a customer. Additionally, they say their customer service team will investigate - a hollow gesture. We went back and forth with them for a week after using their services and as noted below, their resolution was providing a $500 discount on the almost $5k increase in the original price they quoted. We utilized Minimoves to move our belongings from Denver to San Diego. Our property was 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bath, and 1200 sq ft.

Update: The delivery spread was communicated on 12/31 via email. However, when I booked and at the time of pick up I was told 14 days from receipt of goods. With that in mind I was expecting to receive the goods 01/05/2026 I would not recommend. I recently used MiniMoves for a move from Maryland to Georgia, and unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the overall experience. The initial quote process went smoothly, and we were able to schedule pickup for 12/22/2025 without any issues.

I ignored the reviews and I regret it. Avoid this company at all costs. My items had a significant amount of damage. When the movers dropped off the damaged items, they shrugged and said it's not their problem, have a nice day, and pulled out. Carefully read their claims process. You can only submit one claim, so if you discover more damaged items later on, you cannot submit another claim.
