All I can say is RUN DO NOT WALK!!!...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! If I could give less than a star I would, but at the least they get one star for actually getting to the destination, finally. DO NOT believe ANY 5 STAR rating. Research Mirit Great American. Tri state gives your business to Great American. . Tri State quoted me $1,713.00...after several delays the furniture was picked up on July 2nd 2020 by Mirit Great American.
We relocated from Rochester, NY to Charlotte, NC and contracted United One Van Lines in October 2024, believing they were a moving company. We later learned they operate as a moving broker and assign third-party carriers. Our original estimate increased substantially on the day of the move after the assigned carrier (Mirit Great American / Great American Van Lines) conducted an on-site review. Due to timing and the sale of our home, we felt we had no practical alternative but to proceed.
TL;DR Dishonest, unreliable, unprofessional, unethical. Stay away. Details. NJ to VT, pickup 06/29. Mr Tyler, ‘relocation specialist’ at Union, NJ, calls back to a quote request in May 2018, is nice, polite, answers all questions, assures that TriState is trouble-free unlike other companies, is NOT an agency; assures his accessibility through delivery in case of issues, provides a seemingly reasonable quote for a detailed inventory provided by me, follows up until I book.
A legit-appearing brokerage front for a profoundly unethical business. This is based on a move from NJ to VT, which I'm still awaiting delivery of, well past the estimated window period. Tri State Van Lines is a broker front end, which is registered with the DOT, however their fleet size listed is 2 trucks. So, they underestimate your quote to hook you, pursue you until you pay a deposit, and sell the move to Great American Van Lines.
This was one of the worst moving experiences I have ever experienced in my lifetime. I am extremely disappointed with Mirit Great American Movers and the way my belongings were handled. From the moment my items were loaded, I was concerned about the lack of care being taken with my furniture and personal property. It appeared that my belongings were spread out rather than properly packed and secured, which significantly increased the amount of space they occupied.
Essentially, this is one of those moving companies that low-ball you on the estimate, pick up your things, and then extort you on delivery day. The driver was incredibly rude, insisted that my complex's streets were to small to drive his full size truck, (even though multiple other movers had before and have since, and the Landlord sent the driver a voicemail stating the same) and wanted an extra $300 for ME to purchase a Uhaul (In addition to the $300) so he could do his job.
THIS COMPANY WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORSE!! I have never in my life been in such an awful situation. I was roped into what I was thinking was a good deal until moving day the truck showed up. The driver was the most ignorant and disrespectful human being I have ever met. Before looking at what we had to move he said it’s going to be more money. He then proceeded to tell me it was going to be $1600 more than what I was quoted and guaranteed. He kept telling me to shut up and that I don’t know what I’m talking about.
HORRIBLE! Do NOT use this moving company. all five star reviews are fake, they are agents they sub contract your stuff to another company called greatAmerican Van lines. you will end up paying extra ~500$ on whatever price they quote, they claim no additional charges, but at every stage their thugs will raise the price, while picking up, while delivering. they send their ex convict looking thugs into your home to move your furniture.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the service provided by Van Tri State Moving Lines! From the initial consultation to the final delivery, every step of the process was handled with professionalism and care. The team was punctual, friendly, and worked incredibly efficiently to get everything packed and loaded without a hitch. The movers were careful with all of my items, ensuring everything arrived in perfect condition. They were organized and worked quickly, which really helped reduce the stress of moving.
I just had my family moved from Atlantic City with Tri State Van Lines this past week going to Chicago. It was not easy to get to my home due to my location which made it hard to find a good price and a solid company. I highly recommend them to anyone needing an awesome moving experience. They got everything set up in the truck quickly and were attentive to my fragile items. They even packed up some last minute items that I'd forgotten to add for low cost.
I needed to move several boxes from a residence to a storage facility. I contacted Safe Ship Moving Services, they arranged everything and partnered us with the carrier, Mirit Great American Inc. I was worried, especially with it being on such short notice, and only a 2 day window to get everything picked up and delivered. However, my concerns were unfounded, Mirit immediately got in touch, accommodated the day and time frame we were given.

I was very happy with Tri State Van Lines. They were professional, clean, careful, timely and well priced. They were very responsive by phone and easy to talk to and set up my move. They were professional and very tidy and kept my house and items in order and were careful not to track in any dirt into my old or new home. They showed up at our scheduled time and delivery at my new home was on time as scheduled even with weather issues. Their price was competitive with several other quotes I received.
