Move Happy Hawaii

The company that I contracted my move with (Solomon & Sons) subcontracted with Move Happy for the actual pick-up and delivery of my items. I was moving from California to Maine. It took Move Happy six weeks from pick-up to delivery, five weeks from my “first available” date to delivery. The delivery date got later and later every time I called to inquire. (I called—no one was keeping me informed.) Based on advice from Solomon & Sons, I left some items unpacked.

Would not recommend this company. They will actively screen your calls and choose not to pick up. They will lose your items. Go with a different company, even if you have to pay more. I used them for my move from Hawaii to Texas. The movers came and packaged up my belongings and I thought all was good. However, they did not give me the chance to check over the inventory before they left. If you are using this company, check over everything and make sure it is scanned into their system, even if they brush you off.

Warning!! Avoid using this company. The first team that showed up was very inexperienced and didn't care about anything. They were filling boxes and tossing them down the stairs. When asked what they were doing, they said the boxes were too heavy. They put a large hole in my wall and didn't say anything about it. The tossing of the boxes and extremely dirty shoes soiled my white carpets.

Recently moved from Hawaii to the mainland. I had a lot of furniture broken but that is not what has me so angry. They have thieves working for them. I had collected currency from around the world. I kept it all in a coin purse I bought in Paris. I had Franks from Switzerland and Pounds from the UK. I had clients of mine that knew I collected money from different places. They had given me money from New Zealand and Australia. My husband had a couple of work trips overseas this year and had brought me more.

Out of all the military movers we have had, this company is by far the worst that we have been given. We were given a three day pack out for something that should have been a 2 day pack out; which is fine, i assumed that they would take their time in packing everything. Nope, the first day, we were told that they would be at our house between 8:30am-9:00am, at 9:45am we received a call that they would be there between 12:00pm - 1:00pm, they finally showed up at 2:30pm and dropped one guy off then came and picked…

Pick up in Hawaii went fine but when the items arrived on the mainland, half the boxes (which were brand new) were destroyed and several of my items broken to pieces. And they only pay $.60 per pound for broken items, so if you have glass carefully packaged in tons of bubble wrap, too bad being able to replace them, especially if they are of any sentimental value. In addition, the delivery driver was extremely rude.

Showed up late 2 days in a row. First day they were only there for 3 hours and maybe got 1 room done. 2nd day assured us there would be a full crew...nope only 1 person showed up to pack the rest of our 5 bedroom house. More didn’t show up until 3pm. Instead of using packing material used our blankets and bath towels as a way to “protect” our belongings. Took ONLY our kids pee pads off their bed for “packing material” but not their blankets which was on top of their pee pads.

Move Happy was contracted for our military move from O’ahu. They arrived with plenty of packers and movers on the day of (3 bed house/family of 3). However and unfortunately, even with four packers our household goods were packed with little care. Most of our items were just wrapped in packing paper, some not even, and loaded into the truck. The rest of our items were packed into maybe 10 five foot boxes. It made the boxes incredibly heavy and ridiculous to unpack.
