In their own words
TLDR: Baits you in with the lowest price around, claims they'll be your contact and liaison with the moving company they contract to the job, raises the price at pickup and ghosts you. Still in the middle of the move so I'll update with a full review later, but I wanted to get this one-star review out as soon as possible to prevent someone from using Moving Apt as their broker. Do not use Moving Apt under any circumstance.
Update: after waiting a few months for my damages claim to be processed, Moving APT offered only $50 compensation for the moving delays and the claims company offered far less than the cost to repair the furniture. Moving APT also asked me to sign a form saying I would not post any online reviews in order to get the $50 and I declined.
Moving APT is very sorry to hear that the customer was not happy with their experience. Please note that the customer's moving contract was with a different company, whom the customer would normally have to file their claim through.
Worst scammers on the market. The company they referred to us, kept postponing our moving date, and finally we waited on moving day & night with not even a call to cancel. Was told the movers were still at a house where they had to move an entire upstairs of furniture that was not on “the list.” Next day, we had the same scam pulled on us for an extra $1200.00 in added cost.
The absolutely WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE in my entire life! I fully understand That this is a movingg broker, but the company advertises itself as being an interface between small moving companies and customers who require small moves.The first part of the move of my daughter's belongings from Schaumburg, IL to Cleveland, OH went well. Items picked up immediately. Where everything broke down was hen I stated questioning about why the delivery was delayed.
Moving APT is truly sorry to hear that the customer was not happy with their services from their moving company. Moving APT is a booking agent for both smaller and larger moving companies across the country, and was the customer's booking agent.
Apartment packing went okay but they hiked the price twice right before the move but that's not the major issue. The major issue is we have no idea where our stuff is, when it might come and they are literally IGNORING us. My mother is 82yo and moved across the country in a pandemic and they swore up and down left and right they would take good care of her and that all the bad reviews were covid related. NOW THEY REFUSE TO GIVE US ANY UPDATE OR RESPOND TO MULTIPLE MESSAGES. SO NASTY!!!!!
I know this company comes in with a cheaper offer than 90% of the competition, but it is just not worth the headache you'll get because of their hired movers. Firstly, the moving APT employee quoting the job misled us, telling us that the $75 fee for long carrying started from the apartment loading dock door (when we explicitly asked to clarify) and not the door to the apartment. Surprise! An extra $600 fee on moving day!
Moving APT is very sorry to hear that the customer feels they experienced an issue in their move with their moving company VDMD. Although claims are normally filed through the moving company, Moving APT has offered to compensate the customer ourselves as a courtesy.
I can’t sleep after what happened during my move. I arranged everything in advance, called ahead, and specifically asked for a move based on *volume*. I was told to submit an itemized list and that any extra space left on the truck could be used for more items. I agreed, knowing I didn’t have a lot. The day before the move, I contacted the moving company again and asked how much extra space I had. I was told I’d been given the equivalent of *36 large boxes* in additional storage.
Moving APT is very sorry to hear that this customer was not happy with their services. Please note that Moving APT was the customer's booking agent. We were not the customer's contracted moving company, nor are we or our services who is being referred to in this review.
If I could give them a zero star then that is what they would get. We have moved to Montana and we decided to go with this company. We put a portion of our money up front and they made sure that we noticed that we were bound by the contract to be available for the three day window they had for our pick up which was Wednesday through Friday . 1. Received a call the day before the pick up window and was told the truck company they were using would only take cash or money order but no credit card.

Since I have never used a moving company before, not sure if it’s a good value or not. However, the Moving APT company was very polite and professional, the actual movers were great, very courteous and efficient. I would use them again, but I’ll probably be headed to the nursing home! 😉

Working specifically on the front end with Rachael was really amazing. Our almost 101 year old mother from Providence RI had just died. My 2 sisters and I gathered from 3 different points across the country to pack and ship her belongings. My Minnesota sister found good reviews of APT on the internet and called. For over an hour she walked around the apartment describing furniture, paintings, mirrors and the general detritus that had to be shipped to her. I thought - this is ridiculous!
I wanted to move our household items from Michigan to New Jersey. I was doing an online research and found Moving APT. Spoke to Raichel and got a quote. When I compared with other quotes, I found Raichel gave me a reasonable quote. We had not finalized an address at New Jersey as we were still looking for a home. I was very comfortable to know that they even offered Storage, that too, free for the first month.
