NewRay Moving LLC

DO NOT move with NewRay, they will LOSE your belongings. I am considering filing a police report and suing this company for a property damage claim. The lack of accountability, professionalism, and integrity of this company is appalling -- I am calling out the unprofessional customer representative Sasha, who was my main point of contact. Full disclosure: I was a repeat customer of NewRay for four years between 2019-2023.

Update 8/6: The company contacted me saying that there must be a mistake because my move wasn't 800, it was 675. The office sent me the receipt they have which says total 675 (I was at my office I could not check mine at the time). I paid $600 cash, $147 over Zelle, and had already paid a $48 deposit. The company said they never received the Zelle and I sent proof of the transaction. After this I get 5 phone calls from the number I had Zelled.

Slowest most inefficient movers I’ve ever used (and I had moved a lot). This was my smallest move ever since I sold a lot of stuff beforehand trying to make it quicker. It was also my shortest distance move. But still this company took twice as long as other movers before. All I had was a half furnished 2 bedroom apartment with all the boxes pre-packed. The only furniture that needed to be disassembled was a dining table and queen bedframe.

Use K&C Arlington Movers instead. Their price and speed is way better. With more amount of items, and a lot longer distance (50min) compared to 10min with Newray Moving LLC, they charged half the price. They have double the amount of reviews by customers all 5 stars. I regret giving newray moving a try over the last one. I now know which company to call for our next move. My biggest regret this new year has been giving a try to newray moving llc over my previous moving companies.

I had a terrible experience with this moving company. They were moving one small item at a time, walking the full hallway to the truck, clearly stretching the time. I even asked them to speed up, use a professional dolly, and stack more items together — I even offered to pay more for faster service — but they completely ignored my request. My move started at 3:30 PM (a small apartment) and didn’t finish until 12:45 AM.

The company lies and the team works slow on purpose to extend the time. My husband and I just had moved and fortunately this wasn't our first time moving. In fact, we moved more than 4 times in the region so we know that the company is not good objectively. I am glad the manager left review under my husband with a lie that they had to move our sofa which is an absolute lie. We have a solid evidence that the furniture shop delivered our sofa on the day of movement.

I’m the sister of Colin and have been up to date on this situation as it unfolds. No matter the inventory of the house, size of the house, additional packing required, moving companies are supposed to plan for that. Whatever the original price was that NewRay Moving agreed to with my mom and brother, they should have been honored it. If you noticed when you arrived to the home that there was more work than expected, you should’ve communicated that and renegotiated pricing and time before doing anything further.

This company were good on a previous move, but recently I think they must have relaxed hiring standards for what workers they use. The last movers took a purposefully long time to stretch the move time out. A 2 hour estimated moving time …
